Title: Everyones van of choice!?
Post by: spudd on August 28, 2011, 08:14:06 pm
Hi guys looking at upgrading my van to a van with a larger payload, (currently have a connect T200)

Criteria is to hold 650l tank, so I decent payload, but nothing to BIG  :)

Been looking at vivaros/promaster etc or the new experts/dispatchs etc but would be interested to know what you guys have with a 600l+ water...

Cheers guys all comment welcome  ;)

Like yourself Spikey I have a T 200  i love the wee bugger but i know when the time comes i want to  move on to a Vivaro, at the moment it handles a 350 tank no bother and all the rest of my stuff etc inc two Border Collie dogs :D i don't think i'd go any higher than that in the connect

Good weight size combo is the Toyota Hi ace 1200 kg payload but 600mm narrower than tranny etc..

ideal for tight spaces

Money no object I'd go for the transporter, otherwise I'd choose the scudo/dispatch/expert. Long wheelbase for a bit of extra space. Both payload of 1200kg

I have a Trafic.
However, my van of choice would either be a Toyota Hiace (with rear doors) or for more payload, a 3.2 tonne Transit.

Ford Ranger Super Cab. Has four seats, two doors or four doors, four seats, 5ft 8in load bay, carries over a tonne and works a treat where I live as lots of places I work don't have any roads.

Just had the new shaped Scudo SWB.
Superb van and exactly the right size for a 1 or 2 man set up.
1000kg payload ( I carry 500 litres so pl=enty to spare)
1.6 tdi engine, costs about 15p per mile to run (45 to the gallon- ish)
I've boxed in the tank and painted 'Protectakote' on the floor - looks the biz and dead easy to keep clean and tidy.

Hi Andy, really like the look of the scudo/expert but just reading a few reviews and no ones got a good word to say about them? What reg is your mate, did you lease or buy?? Any pics would be much appreciated, my emails grant@clean-and-bright.co.uk if this helps....

Thanks mate

It's an 08 plate and drives like a dream.

Bought a pole yesterday from a guy in Altrincham and he had the same van (Peugeot version) and he was singing it's praises as well.

I'll get some photos when it is sign written up (being done this week).

andy do you ever get a problem with your pumps that high?

Every now and again they need bleeding through but only needs doing at the beginning of the day.

If everything is kept plugged in to the reels and there are no leaks in the connections then it seems to be OK, if we run out of water in the main tank then it messes things up a bit but really not a problem, takes literally a minute to rectify.

Had it set up exactly the same in the Vito with no problems.
