Here is your sunday story :)
No person, ideal or institution becomes great until Great Resistance has been encountered. Greatness cannot be achieved until this concept is understood.
Unfortunately, the average person is ignorant of this rule to achievement. Mr. and Miss Average, in their ignorance are fearful and reluctant to encounter even slight resistance. They don’t want to make waves or be criticized and they incorrectly feel that criticism will hold them back and prevent their happiness from being realized. I truth, the opposite is the case.
Take note: when we begin to change our jobs, we are first given resistance by our loved ones, for they fear change because change means facing the unknown! When we begin to make rapid achievement or commitment to rapid progress, we have road blocks thrown up by our friends and relations. They begin to resist by negative comments and actions which are devices to cause you to maintain the ‘status quo’.
Now, if you are to achieve great progress, you must prevail against those closest to you; this is difficult and requires courage because you desire to please and not hurt those you love. The truth is that great harm befalls your loved ones when you fail to be yourself and do your thing. This is so, because you lose your enthusiasm for life, your growth process stops and your self-esteem diminishes. Those negatives are revered when you stand your ground; and when you have prevailed, your loved ones gain a new and higher respect for you.
History records countless events which prove the point. For an example, the greatest of all men overcame the most severe form of resistance and in so doing gave birth to Christianity. Had Jesus Christ run from His opposition, we would
not know His name today, nor would we have available for our use those great and wonderful truths He brought forth for us so that humanity could find their individual greatness.
Furthermore, Christianity met “its” greatest resistance in Rome. Thousands of Christians were crucified in Rome. This resistance was met and in so doing, gave life to the force of Christianity, and Rome became the center of all Christianity – now, and for the past 1700 years, Rome has remained the very center of the Christian world.
Let these great lessons of the past stay in our mind as a beacon in our personal and corporate future. Let us understand and be grateful that our ideas have proven worthy of tremendous resistance. Today, all over the world, great forces have risen to resist our growth. These forces fear us for what we represent and they are attempting to destroy us and our dreams. Our understanding of this phenomenon and our strength of character and our commitment to our way of life is prevailing over these forces which have risen up. We are fortunate to have such great resistance. This resistance is evidence of our greatness and it provides us with the energy to prevail, to conquer and to dominate. These next few short years will record a brilliant history and establish a permanent place for our way of life – which is Freedom to be and to work out our dreams for a great world, for ourselves, for children and all humankind.
Understand our battle and be glorified that you are a part of the making of history. The work you do today in the defense of our way will provide new freedom and hope for millions yet to come. Stand tall in the face of our enemy ... your resolution and commitment will seize his heart with fear and he will fade into oblivion.
AND THAT IS THE LAW OF LIFE.

He's been cleaning my windows for a few months and we always say hello and have a good chat, he seems like just one the lads really, so I always leave my curtains open, i figured if he sees my underwear on the floor or whatver he wont take much notice.
However, i was in a gay bar on sunday (long story) and i seen him in the, i thought maybe hes just with friends or just having a laugh but he had a leather jacket on and was dancing to beyone (single ladies) in a very camp way.
Hes supposed to clean my windows tomorrow , should i mention it to him or should i just closethe curtains and pretend im not in.
what do you think guys?

I am sure there are lots of good people on this forum like read a little wise words every so often, rather than who’s got the biggest pole, or who’s got the best brush and so on ….. would you say so ?

It does give some pause for thought. I do believe that what doesnt kill you makes you stronger. I also believe that you learn more about yourself and about others when encountering adverse conditions.
It builds character, it seperates the winners from the losers and more importantly it creates the future.
The economy is on a curve at the moment and it will grow at a more rapiid rate in the near future. We are on the start of the curve and in the next 5-10 years vast fortunes will be created and the credit crunch will soon be forgotten about.
It does bare relevance to our current economic conditions. Maybe some should take note of how resilience is defined

Are these really words of wisdom? It seems to me reading your posts that you find the realities of everyday life either difficult or mundane, not that that's anything to be ashamed of i'm sure we all do at some point. Why don't you just get out there and live life to the full instead of looking for hidden meanings in everything? Also if you are going to post on such matters why not use your own words instead of cutting and pasting?

I'm interested to note that there has been a lot of resistance to Boshravie posting this ;D .
I only read the first few lines and, for a change, I didn't think it was a load of bull.
There is always resistance to change - even positive change.
Many years ago my life was going down the toilet. When I rang in the changes, there was even resistance to that (though I left her a few months later ;D ).
All you need to do is remember the Borg saying: "Resistance is futile." If they argue, assimilate them.

this is a window cleaning forum....or at least i thought it was,if you think being called a nob end constitutes "hurling abuse " you must have lead a pretty sheltered life,read some of boshravies old posts

post it in the chat section or better still on a forum dedicated to anything other than window cleaning

There are diamonds in Boshravies's post that can be dug out and be useful to prospective and struggling window cleaners:-
The resistance you get from family when you tell them you're going to shine glass needs to be overcome.
The resistance from family to setting up as self employed rather than keeping a "steady" "safe" job could hold you back.
OK - He gave the example of Christ; but in a secular sense it could just as well have been any of the business icons or stars of today.
It's all about balance see? If Tosh bangs on about his spirituality I try to look for the diamonds in his posts rather than the soil you need to get through to find them.
And although I pretend not to care (note the profusion of grinning emoticons) I hope that forum members find an occasional zircon in my abundant posted soilage too.
"Lord help me learn from Gold's nuggets of wonderful wisdom but protect me from the torrent of diorrhea that it floats in. Please help me distinguish which is which! Amen." ;D

Dear Cheesus, please make all those side gates left unlocked, make my pumps not fail, make my flo controller not feck me about; keep my hands dry; let not my rectus 21 get caught under car tyres, make Wor Lass happy and smiley, and please let us not have cheese again in our daily lunch box.

P.S. The original post seemed to be more about coming out of our comfort zones; a bit like getting out of the boat when Jesub was walking on water.

I've got to agree with these guys!
I'm sure this has nothing to do with window cleaning, I say sure because I clicked on the post and then realised the author was boshravie so I didn't bother to read it.
Other posters irrelevant topics are removed, I don't understand why this drivel isn't!!
