Title: Carpet Cleaners Carnival - Who's going?!
Post by: Jim_77 on August 27, 2011, 11:49:11 pm
I virtually live in the park so it would be rude not to!

Who else is coming along?

I'll be there. Running the Chemspec stand. Believe theres a barby on at the campsite on the Friday night. John Bridon will be there so any donations can be given to him on the day. Jamie at CSUK will know better. Staying at Kettering Travel Lodge Friday & Saturday as are a few others I believe.

Just wondering if you have to be a member of NCCA to go to the carnival?
We're not (yet) but will be soon hopefully. Looks like a good chance to look at products and meet people......

How far is Kettering travel lodge from wisksteed please?
Title: Re: Carpet Cleaners Carnival - Who's going?!
Post by: creighton foyle on August 29, 2011, 08:56:20 am
philip i think it is about a mile away but as the lodge is alongside a dual carriageway it is slightly longer one way as you have to travel a couple of miles to the right exit though i am sure jim can explain better than me.

Philip, best way to get from the travelodge to the park is to fly along to Junc.8, turn back on yourself and come off at J9 (by the cinema/Tesco).  Unfortunately although it's less than a mile in a straight line, you're stranded on the wrong side of a dual carriageway to make it easy to walk between hotel/park!

You could do a very long way round walking but it would probably takes ages and not be very safe.  A taxi should cost £6-£8 at a rough guess.

Billy, it would be rude not to have a few beers!  If people want to meet somewhere quite close to the venue and travelodge (where it seems most are staying), my local watering hole is very close indeed.

Or I'll come down to the park if the BBQ idea is a goer.

Ash, it's on the 17th Sept in Kettering, about 45 mins east of Birmingham from you

Has anyone got a Flexi-5 and/or a hard floor spinner like an sx-12 or similar, that they would be willing to bring up for me to have a demo?  I would like to have a bit of a play with both tools before purchasing.  I'd ply you with beer to return the favour :)

I can bring an SX12 and an SX7 for you.

Sold my Flexi5 the other day to someone desperate for one who cant wait on the new updated ones coming in.

"Didn't know you were a hobo"

When will you learn tsk tsk..

Nice one Jamie... but would you mind if I took them off-site for a couple of hours?  My mum's kitchen floor needs the tile & grout doing, I have been saving the job until I get a demo of a spinner, it's been filthy for weeks!!

I didn't know there was a new flexi-5 model coming out?  what is different?  was there a problem with the old design?

Derrick havent we done the hobo joke before ???
Title: Re: Carpet Cleaners Carnival - Who's going?!
Post by: Jamie Pearson on September 12, 2011, 06:03:34 pm
No problem. Mine is one of the first SX12s about 7 or 8 years old but you wont notice the difference.
I also have the Gekko edge and small area tool which I will bring.
We will be leaving after the carnival on Saturday so you could collect Friday night if you fancy some BBQ and beer then drop back to us Saturday afternoon.

I cant remember exactly whats being changed on the Flexi 5 but it is having some mods done.

Never had a problem with my one in all the years I have had it. Great piece of machinery.

Think the new one is direct drive as opposed to belts.
Title: Re: Carpet Cleaners Carnival - Who's going?!
Post by: Jim_77 on September 12, 2011, 10:05:56 pm
Ahhh thanks JK ;)  I guess that's going to give it more torque?  Maybe help stop it slipping if it encounters too much resistance?  Is that a known problem with the existing model?

Jamie that's damn decent of you, yeah sure chuck the gecko in and the sx-7 as well...might as well give them a whirl!

It's a porcelain tiled floor, pretty standard stuff.  I've cleaned it a few times during its life so have a good benchmark to go by.

I'll brink you a decent drink down to go with the BBQ, what's your poison? :D

I actually only drink Jagermeister. Only thing that doesnt give me a hangover.
Title: Re: Carpet Cleaners Carnival - Who's going?!
Post by: Jim_77 on September 14, 2011, 12:15:57 am
Christ, Jager is the one drink that has been responsible for some of the most horrific hangovers I've ever had ;D

Mind you that is through doing jager-bombs!

Right, big bottle of Jagermeister it is then!

I actually really like it mixed with diet coke, makes a fantastic long drink with plenty of ice.  I suppose you have it with Irn Bru ? ;)
