If you mean Airflex turbo then yes a very good machine with good back up from cleansmart, i have had the turbo for about a year and its a well made and powerful triple vac machine with 600psi, the only downside is they now have a even more powerful machine the Airflex storm.

I have the pro 600psi
A very good machine, I wouldnt consider it as truckmount gear. I run mine with 75tf of hose.
But loose some suction.
For truckmount i would say you need minimum of 150ft with no lose of vac power.

JUst to add i dont take indoors weather permiting. 50ft does 99% of domestic jobs.

What i am looking for is a very powerful porty which kind of works as a TM, up to 100' hose length at the front door to replace the steempro... would an airflex turbo be any good for this and if so anyone have a second hand one with hoses etc..?

Cheers

Is the Storm better than the Turbo then? Just that the Turbo is a triple vac and the Storm is only a twin vac?? or have I got it wrong?
Anyway says on the website that both can be used as truckmont with up to 150ft hose.

Clare
It is all the other gear you need to carry on the zafira. ie
Vacuum
aggitation (sebo or broom minimum)
chems
hoses (dont under estimate how much room you need for these)
Sprayer x 2
Wands
spotting kit
tarpauline
+ other smaller stuff

I have a fiat doblo van chocca block full. Will be buying bigger when in have the cash.

airflex turbo 600 is great, had mine for 18months and no problems. i also never take mine inside, i always run from outside the door with 50ft of hose. dubious about running from van due to the 2 power leads, i dont really like putting them in 2 seperate extension leads to rech the hose.If you want to run a portable from van with near truckmout power then have a look at the prowler from restormate, this will probably be my next machine. it can be truckmounted or portable

If I were you starting out I would recommend . ...........

1 sebo bs36 vac  £300 new, they come in a very smart royal blue now, used £100

1 electric sprayer £120 from window cleaning warehouse

1 rake any cc supplier £25

1 used buffer w/soft brush and pad holder  from a forum member  less than £200, maybe get some pads thrown in

10 pads nuway from  restormate  £300

1 airflex mini  -for stairs, upholstery and the odd extraction job , £1300 new inc vat but free training.

Chems , a general cleaner(restormate/solutions cornwall are my favourites) some spotter, a good coffee remover , some solvent gel and that is it , no more than £200 will allow you to carry out £5k of cleaning to start.

Some cleaners mate software £250

A website  from carpetcleaning websites.co.uk   £300 . this includes optimization , or ask on here there are a few very good cleaners/web developers who will make a good site and get you on page one of google .

Using your car will be fine with some magnetic signs ,all the above will fit in it easily . My Transit van only cost me £1500 inc signwriting and pays for itself in ad revenue, and obviously gives a better image.

There are much more accessories, chems and bits and pieces that suppliers and other cleaners will say that you need at start up, you dont though . You need to get cash in the door and re invest until you have a decent monthly turnover.

I always aim for one regular returning customer every month added  to my business, the type that spends  from 1-5k a year , mostly these are commercial customers , who have multiple sites which need cleaning , think property managers , housing associations , lettings agents , private landlords,  wealthy or particular private homes, I have customers on rough council estates who have me every month to do this or that job , maybe £50 or £60 a time , but it is no fuss or hassle and those customers are as valuable long term as a blue chip  account, who may take an age to pay or be really fussy about times/access/ paperwork etc.

Also I NEVER turn down a job , and am always willing to diversify if the capital needed is not too high , as well as carpets I clean , upholstery, inc leather, curtains, fires, floods , grafitti, windows, hard floors , inc tile and stone and trauma scenes, drug houses, vacant clean and clears , end of tenancy cleans.  Dont worry all these can be added over time  , and take little extra spending to add if you are careful.

Hello Clare
Whilst you might get an Airflex Storm/ Turbo lying down in your car you'd have very little room for half of what Paul has suggested & it is all equipment that you'll need.
Not sure about the Storm v's Turbo yet as it is very new & not heard of anyone that has got one.
My son & I have just done a comparison with his new Jaguar & my old Scorpion (Jaguar has the same vacuum motors as the Storm I believe, but they are set up differantly?)
Both carpets dried quickly although the carpet done with the Jaguar seemed to be dry quicker & it had recovered slightly more water. It was also a lot quieter than my Scorpion! The Jaguar/ Scorpion has a smaller overall size & from what I have read the Storm has to be swirched off in order for the automatic drain to work?
From a pure vanity point of view though I'd say that the Airflex is slightly easier on the eye as it looks like what we all know as a carpet cleaning machine, but they are all built for one single  purpose, squirt & suck!
