Title: Advertising in parish mags anyone ?
Post by: Blue Frog Systems on August 25, 2011, 11:17:17 am
Looking at advertising in a couple of local parish magazines.

Can anyone who does this already give me a few pointers on what to put on the advert please.

Guessing making a point that your local is a good one, but wondered if there was anything in particular that gets a good result ?

Cheers

I advertise in a local one and I have picked up a lot of work from it!
Make sure you state that you are local, it always goes down well.
Local, honest, reliable etc..........

I'm in 4 parish mags and have been in 2 of them for over 3 years and worth every penny.

I just give the mag editor my flyer and they transfer it to the mag

We are in the local parish mag and have been for years. Didn't do it originally with very strong advertising motives, more really to support the church but we have picked up quite a few from it over time.

I advertise in one, which has had a fair return. They also allow me to put leaflets in the mag periodically for £20 covers 1,200 homes in four small villages. Might be worth the question? Once every six months or so?

Hey JP. As well as all the good advise on here if you use words such as "best" in your copy......

"We use the best equipment on the market" for example and offer solutions and not necessarily a service so you do not fall into a 'me too' trap, that could be an option.

The best advise would be to try every advise on here, if one does not work another will depending on the publication and readers.

The best equipment doesn't make the best window cleaner :)

A bit patchy really - you do get the dross other windies have dropped. But you can train some of them. Give it a go.
