Lee,
not suggesting they don't for you but mine might take a week to show online but they are always backdated normally to the day I paid them to the Post Office or maybe the next working day.
Others may disagree but mine also show two customer references & the service to date has been great.
I would be wary of any bank that lets me draw on any cheque straight away because if they don't clear properly they will be rubbing their hands & counting the charges they will impose if you go overdrawn.

just make sure you get ahead of yourself money wise so you dont rely on the cheques to pay for bills etc as soon as you put them in the bank.most of my cheques that are paid in the bank go towards my tax bill/emergency fund and dont get dipped into much throughout the year.so i always have money in from cheques that cleared months ago if i need it.
if your really desperate for the money from the cheque there is always cash converters!! ;D ;D ;D

Thanks very much guys for all your replies, seems either nat west or stay as i am santander.
The cheques show up straight away online, just waiting the week round.
Daz have tried saving and was putting 10% of earnings away but got wiped out tax bill, van service, then minor repairs to van, now mot and other wear and tear issues, plus the everyday bills that are waiting on the doormat when you get home.
I think i'l have to do what someone on here suggested and put £5 - £10 away daily, i think little and often seems to be the key.
Unfortunately the last two winters cost me :'( not as much as others on here!
But the last two years have borrowed £1000 - £1500 off mother inlaw; by the time i've paid it back £20 - £50a week i've rolled back round to winter :'(
Just seems difficult to get in front ::)
Rant over ;D
I'm not part time by the way ;)

I have to take my daughter to school most mornings and can only start after that :(
what's the earliest you lot start on domestic?
I use to work for a windy and he was 8am on the dot every morning.
Did get told off a few times as people getting kids ready for school; was working on ladders then.
He Never knocked either, straight on upstairs windows :o (perhaps i was working for a peeping tom) ;D
-
To be honest I don't start early on domestic work either. I do have a few though that want an early visit so that they can lock up & get to work. One I start at 7 & another 7.30. Some commercial I have I can also get in very early.
It's each to their own - that's the beauty of window cleaning, build your round to suit your circumstances.
-
I don't clean shop windows out of choice but I knew a wc firm that had a large amount of work on a busy high street. They started about 4am to get it all done before it got too congested.

I think this is the fallout from hurricane in states; fizzles out across atlantic and we get a lot of rain; that's my theory ;D
