Been the same really but August was Great.
Hopefully the rush will start for Christmas but feel people are being a lot tighter with their money at the moment, hopefully if interest rates drop people will start to spend again.
Cheers

Yep the last couple of months couldent of asked for better, put well over 200 hours on the new machine, but seem too spend too much of my time lately on this forum, lots of quotes but not the redies.
-
Not very busy at mo, but usually for me this time of year, should pick up soon and carry on till xmas, its also half term here in Norwich.
Busy doing DIY, the only time to do it is when busy is quiet so I am not complaining
-
Hi Guys,
I am quite busy but lots of small jobs , 4 today, 3 tommorow , 3 thursday.
Money is tighter than last year for a lot of the trades ,I spoke to a couple of plumbers and a plasterer last week and they have all had an up and down year.
I gear my advertising to now in what I call contra marketing, which is a posh way of saying i let the busy periods take care of themselves and gear offers to slacker periods.
Cheers,
Doug

Quiet here as well,
Deftly spending more than I am earning, been a bad week anyway as I had to go down to Cornwall for two days to get machine sorted out (still waiting for the bill) dare say it will arrive tomorrow and depress me even further.
Plus this time of year all my bills seem to come in at once, for instance van insurance / car insurance / yacht club membership (yes okay but I do consider this a necessity)
Having be in in the business for so many years this quiet period is quite normal, yes we have just had a half term, but also once the Christmas decorations appear in the shops people realise how close they are to the glorious 25th.
They start to decorate, by new furniture, and generally get ready for the festive season, the last thing they consider it is their carpets, and if they have left everything decorating etc to the last moment, we are going to be extremely busy the week before Christmas, so when your customers ring tell them you are fully booked three weeks before Christmas, and trying get them to pull their fingers out and decorate a bit faster.
Just my thoughts been there, done that, and got the job, if you know what I mean.
all the best Ted ;D

So you can still take a few booking for January Shaun??

Hi Ted Yacht club memebrship !!!!!!
I never new you were into sailing you should of said when you were down, could of gone fishing instead of standing there in the wind, got my bill already :o oh well shes running like a new 1 now though ...
-
Busy busy busy since early September but August was dire
-
Hi James,
Well actually my machine is running like new as well, it even smells like it did when I first got it, that sort of burning new paint smell, and all of the things that were wrong have now been fixed to my total satisfaction.
But it will probably be expensive as they are keeping the waiting for the bill.
As for fishing from the yacht afraid not, your tackle will get caught in the rigging (and you wouldn't want that) and may your next week's books be fuller than mine.
All the best Ted :)
