For a 3 bed house! A local window cleaner to me advertising on fb the above??
He says they're becoming popular (no wonder at that price) but something tells me he'll get fed up doing them for that.
What do you guys charge? I average £40-£60 for a average 3 bed???
-
same price as you
-
£1 per foot
-
£70 to clean outside gutter and facia extra £20 to clean out gutter
-
have you got a link to the facebook page ???

good luck to the bloke, say he does 4 a day thats 60 in his back pocket, they dsont take that long, a lot of wc forget that 60 a day is good money to a lot of people
-
£50 inc windows .... hour and half tops
£15 though is a bit on the low side though.

Not people who have to fork out for a van, and all the associated paraphernalia that goes with a pure water system. It's about £40 for a ruddy brush! ;D

£60 a day good money?
It doesn't even come close to minimum wage.
-
add your dole money ontop of that and i bet it comes close ;)
-
Not after he's taken any fixed costs and variables off, wet weather, ill health, bank holidays and time in the nick :)
-
I spoke to a window cleaner a couple of years ago and when he hit the £60 mark he went home for the day, and it took him until 2.30/3.00 to do it
He asked me if that was about right? I said yes ;D
-
Brilliant ;D
-
i done a bungalow with large conservatory this morning cleaned all fascia and gutters took me two an a half hours with tea breaks i charged 85 notes.
that's a bungalow so a house would be more.
-
£15 front n back this is crazy.... cant have alot of work coming in doing them for that price.. i'd rather stick a folk in my eye than work for that amount.
-
better a folk in your eye than a fork ;D
-
I can have his number, I'll pay him £20 for each and pocket the difference !!
-
ha ha yes even a fork maybe ;)
-
anything from £40-£80 for 3-4 bedroom houses.£15 he is sure to be stuffing the money in his back pocket.is he doing them off a ladder instead of wfp?
£60 a day is not good money whichever way you look at it.for most of us its a couple of hours work or so maintenance window cleaning.i have some work where i earn £60 an hour but not 40 hours a week!
most of this type of work comes through my regular customer base.i have noticed an "odd job" guy knocking about offering conservatory roof cleaning for £20 in with the gardening!!using a hosepipe and garden brush!!he is a retired guy who is just topping up his pension.it doesnt bother me as i have enough work and the conny roof/fascias cleaning are extras to fit in round my regular stuff.

Yes it does, minimum wage is £5.93 for an adult over 21 and the standard average day (if there is such a thing) is 8 hours so he's getting a bit more than average and if he's just started up perhaps he's happy with that until he builds up some better work.
-
a lot of newbie start up thinking if they earn what they did in there job then they will be happy, and then a few months down the line realise how much can be made
a lot of wc think it is there god given right to earn £200-£300 per day like we have a trade that we spent years studying to do

Thing is if this guy is new he might well be happy with just earning enough to pay his bills until he picks up more work, thats what I did when I first started, I had a mortgage to pay and I made sure I earnt the money to pay it and if it meant working all day for less than £60 thats what I did, dont get me wrong I would loved to of gone in and priced jobs high but at the time it just wasn't possible, everyone has to start somewhere and if he priced everything up at some of the prices you read on here he might well been homeless in a couple of months!

I agree mike, it isn't easy starting out, and work is work.

I wish we could get prices like that up North.
I quoted £95.00 for a gutter internal and external clean, fascias and soffits, large conservatory roof clean and all windows and my quote was laughed at. It should have been £120.00.
I charged an extra £3.00 for a brush over front gutter clean that took a couple of minutes last week for another customer. I thought he was going to have a heart attack when I asked for that and I quickly had to think whether I call 999 or 911 for the emergency services.
