I have spoken to Groupon and they wanted us to clean 3 carpets for £28 and they get 50% of that. "I don't think so"

It all depends on what you actually wish to achieve from the deal.

If you just want to be busy and make a living, then no it is bloody daft to use Groupon,

however if like Jason first stated many moons ago, you wish to try to sell add ons and get a data base, then there are a lot worse and more expensive ideas out there.

now i might daft but surely a data base full of people buying a service at an extremely reduced price is not really worth having , surely the majority of people who take the groupon deal are after the cheapest poss price and when approached in the future will not be willing to pay much more .   and also anyone they rec to use your company will also be aware of the cheap deal and want the same .  i think it may haunt all those who do this for years and some i think will go out of business because of it .

prove me wrong but cannot see the logic myself. there is thinking outside the box but i would think long and hard about the long term prob this may bring

and really does this promote our industry or degrade it i ask you all that question

I have to say, I share exactly the same concerns. I know that in business you sometimes need to make risks, but to me, this is suicide.... Just my tuppence worth and I'd much prefer to be proven wrong :)

Like Hector says, good place to be. If you had met my 1st mother-inlaw, you would understand. Had to keep hands and feet away from her mouth when she was eating!!

Got a groupon deal for a Local indian restrurant and the way the voucher read was

Two meals for £10 so we paid £10 to groupon and we were only expecting to pay for drinks. Cheap night we thought, asked for the bill and we were charged extra because we did'nt choose the most expensive food. Payed £15.28 extra in the end. So it was'nt that good of an offer!

If some of my competition were to go with that deal they would see their profits rise significantly!!!!!  :'(
