i really do think some guys on here are really going over the top with so called problems like clamp issues etc.
ok ive got a clx 22ft and 25ft SLX.the clx i extended too much reaching over a conservatory after a few weeks and i snapped a clamp in half.gardiners had a new clamp sent the same day.problem sorted.the slx i used for 3 weeks and had a clamp come off.i then used duct tape to hold it on for the rest of the day.when i got home i sanded the pole down and re glued the clamp.10 min job.it was then ready for the next days work.
it is a minor issue within the context of running a window cleaning business and i think that alex is trying to resolve the issue as best he can.i think some of the slagging off and comments are just plain rude and uncalled for.6 clamps seems a bit excessive to come loose in one day but its easily fixed.
also having spare poles ready to use when you need them in an emergency is a must as well as having a good stock of spares like connectors,glue,brushes,hose,tape etc.
the 25ft SLX is by far the best pole ive used and i have a 25ft hydra and 22ft clx as emergency poles if i need them.also i dont allow the sections to slip down and bang the clamps when closing the pole down.
losing a few days work due to clamp problems?no way!!being organized and having spares prevents that happening.

Daz,when you have the overheads that i have,(and i'm not saying you haven't)believe me that fvcking around with a pole that should be fit for the job,for an hour every other day would leave you frustrated too.

you dont seem to bothered that BOTH your poles had problems with the clamps after not even a month of owning them.

I thought the whole porpuse of this forum was to give us a place to moan and aire our problems,
If not then I cant see any benifit from coming on here.

I have 3 Clx's out working. 2 out everyday and 1 about 3 full days a week. I have not had a single clamp issue.
However I am very suprised at how quickly they are wearing.
1 pole is less than 3 months old and already almost knackered. I was hoping to get about a year at least out of these but think I will be looking for replacements very soon.
To say I am dissapointed is an understatement.

one minute they are all singing the guys praises and saying things like using my new slx is better than having sex and Alex should get a knighthood.
then as soon as something goes wrong they slag the guy off to a bunch of strangers on a forum ?
bit like the British press really
Ive never purchased anything from garfners as I'm happy with what I have but having been in this gane now for 5 years and on the forums for for over 3 years Ive read many a post praising their products and the fact the guy will answer any questions on here with regards to information about his products and always leaves his personal email addy tells me who helpful the guy is.
if I need any info on my system then I have to call Ionics during office hours, I know some of their people used to come on here but they got slagged off as usual, same thing happened with Glyn from Omnipole, he used to come on here and give info about the gutter vac which convinced me to buy one and Ive never regretted it, but Glyn got slagged off and left the forum.
as I say over the last 3 years Ive read lots of positive things about Alex, but say a newbie came on the forum the other night looking for advice on purchassing a new pole and then read that damming post ? 1st thing that newbie would have thought was I will steer clear of that company if their poles are that bad.
EVERY MANAFACTURER IN THE WORLD have some products come back faulty its because no one is perfect, I worked for Sony for 18 years and believe me we had products come back faulty by the pallet load on a daily basis.
I could understand it if someone had problems with their pole and had been in direct communication with Alex over it and the problem still wasn't resolved but to just come on here and slag the person off is wrong.

Well put. You do have a sensible side then! ;D
According to perfect windows " he keeps a spare of every single item so he has no downtime" yet, he can't manage a temporary clamp fix which takes less than 5 minutes & will work perfectly for weeks, let alone the rest of that day!
Not so long ago, you would have to pay double the price for a carbon pole which would be heavier & less rigid.
One call to Gardiners would have sorted the problem (try that with brodex) but I suspect Vin just wanted to look clever! No doubt we'll have him & Luther telling us how big their business's are soon! ;D ;D

Maybe I should clarify my post. I am not happy with how quickly one of my poles has worn but I think a lot has to do with the user.
One of my guys looks after his kit so well I swear he has OCD, the other guy, who has just left my employ (Hench me overhauling his gear) didn’t take as much care.
The difference in the 2 poles is really noticeable.
The moral is look after your kit, clean and service it often. don’t chuck it about and it will last a lot longer.

Btw,if anyone wants to read through any of my back posts i have never moaned about the rain,snow,cold, days off,or how much i earn or put pictures up of the houses i clean or ever mentioned clamp/pole issues before. All i tend to do (i think) is be reasonably helpfull and have never put anyone down. Can't wait until this winter now to get my own back! ;D

I can't see anyone attacking alex's integrity (which is beyond reproach). But they are attacking his poles clamps. Which is completely different.
I don't think vin deserves a slating because the clamps have been an issue on here for a long time now.
I'm sure alex will get it sorted.

I have privately (and now publicly) apologised unreservedly to Alex for the manner in which I brought this subject up.
I wrote the relevant posts when I was extremely angry and frustrated and I should have stopped to think before posting.

i thought this was an open forum where you could air your
views even on suppliers lots of other suppliers seem to get
stick on here brodex,ionics ,personally if people are having problems
with suppliers i would like to hear about it and this particular issue
about clamps has gone on for a while and even though i have handled
these poles and potenially they look a good investment i wouldnt
buy one untill it was resolved.
so if any of you have moans about equipment or suppliers
keep going because i dont know about others im always interested
in anything i could be investing my money in.
dont let the swastika brigade on here bother you! ;D

You're too emotional Daz !! They certainley are the best poles and i wouldn't buy any others. I've had no clamp issues like other guys. It doesn't mean its something that does not need addressing though.
