Title: Gutter VAc and generator
Post by: SunShineCleaning on August 12, 2011, 07:38:55 am
Out of interest, what generator wattage do you use to the wattage of vac.

Tried to buy a wolf 2500w from wolf and they said you needed 3 times the wattage due to 'startup load'.

 ???

I don't know if he was trying it on, but if I had followed his advice I would have a 6000w or 7.5KvA generator as I want to run my 2000w pressure washer off it as needed.

Any thoughts?

He's not far off - I have a 6KVA to run the omni which is rated at 4200watts but each motor can be started in turn which would help. All my generators are Stephill who are British and very helpfull

But according to your figures your generator is 4800w as each KvA is 800w.

Following his advice you would need a 12600w generator or 10KvA
