My older bro has just retired early but on a bit of a tight budget - but as a bit of a techy-leccy sort of guy (ex office equipment repair guy) he likes to get down the shed and have a bit of fiddle and earn a bit of pocket money! (ooh errr)
So I said I'd try and get a couple of old window cleaning pumps that have been discarded/burnt out so as he can have a go at resurrecting them or using them for spare parts.
Anyone got one at the back of the shed (within ten miles of Bristol) I might collect for him to open up and "learn on"? If he gets any good at it (and doesn't get bored and start playing with model boats or whatever) he might do a "turn around service".
I told him the prob. is you can get a new one for under a ton but as he says it keeps him off the streets and if he can put a few bob in the "petrol tin" here or there he's happy.

I haven't any but I think you do right keeping him off the streets.
Is this in response to the riots this week in major cities? I heard Bristol was affected.

Bugger, took on to the tip the other day! Always the way, sorry.

OK - got two old pumps being sent to me now - one more needed and that'll be enough for a week or two - don't want the old fella living in his shed.
Next please and that's it!
