I really hope that those complaints don't come flying in.

I've seen many of Richys posts and I can't think of anyone who is trying harder to find a way through the maze of life to make a success of himself and his business.

Good luck mate and well done.

How many vans and how many staff were involved and were you overseeing the first cleans? :)

"the lads"

Tends to lend itself to the fact that he had more than one

He couldve had 4 lads , then its only 110 in new cleans

Very doable!

God I love this forum and the members who don't believe a single word anyone says if they can't do it themselves. If its compact work then its easily achievable. I have an estate were I only move the van once an two of us do 26-28 houses in less 4 hours. Compact work is brilliant and hence why its worth so much if you ever want to buy/sell. Well done richy mate. Onwards an upwards pal

to clarify the lads are both 28 and very fit, all houses are council types house and the work has been built very compact, i cudnt believe how many they did myself they wer out from 8-5.20 but these house only tend to have 7-8 windows max

we have recently put them on a new payment structure which helps them earn more money for the more work they do, althought my original work was well priced it wasnt very compact, so it was hard for lads to hit targets but we are now filling the gaps and getting more jobs on close together by lowering prices slightly but it really paying off

The only thing about offering workers target incentives is they tend to miss out bathroom windows, cleaning sills or even detailing though im assuming your wfp so this wont matter so much, but what ive found from previous employees is that they tend to want as much money as possible for as little effort so beware of the target system.

I used to think bigger spaced accounts were better, but comparing day rates, compact stuff cant be beaten even if slightly underprices, however its harder work usually, as smaller and involves lots of moving between but it can make a good wage

The best work is well priced big and compact but that is like rocking horse poo haha

 hi richy
would you mind telling me what your pay structure is for your canvasser, and where you found them.

i have tried for months to recruit a canvasser. offered every deal under the sun, tried local paper jobcentre gumtree

not found a soul who stuck it. or did any good.

 cheers

 john

i bumped into an old school friend at butty van near my unit and he said he was canvassing for safestyle etc gave him my number n didnt hear anything then we advertised in the jobcentre n he rang up one day, at first we set him a target of 350 a week which is 70 quid a day for £250 quid a week on a self employed basis, but being a team manager at safestyle he was used to around £1600 a month so we have upped his target to £450 a week now for £300, hes absolutely smashing the back out of it, he pulled in £180 quid yesterday, he makes a big effort to go round his outs as well and even delivers leaflets in his own time because he sees it as a tool for earning more money when potential custy has bit of background info about the company and pulls in much more after a leaflet drop.

i think we have got lucky to be honest coz he quite a quiet lad in a group and a bit of a loner, but really committed and persistant, he started at 12.30 yday n had only done £22 by 4.30pm came in today with a personal best of £180 by 8pm!!!!!!

hi
i think thats a good deal allround for you both, if i could get someone as commited as him i would take is hand off on that deal. the problem with a salary like that is if you get a waster who brings in a 30 quid a day.  i have had it.

might go and stand outside the local double glazing firm and give out my cards.

cheers
