Well,well,well
Seems like matt has come up with a new breed of machine. Anyone purchased, any thoughts on this ?

ps I am in no way affiliated to cleansmart

Like the look of that !!
-
For the cost of just one top-of-the-range fuel powered truck mount, you could purchase up to 6 Airflex Storm machines. Ask yourself; which has the potential to earn you more?
Simon's not going to be happy with that ;D
-
I know someone else that isn't going to be happy - it's a very similar spec to another recently launched porty.
-
Hi guys
Yes the vacuum motors appear to be the latest lamb Ametek ones but this is only what you would expect.
If a manufacturer says they have developed a better motor and you trust that company, then you will use their new motors.
It will be interesting to see if the performance of the latest generation is any better.
Cheers

"Imitation is the highest form of flattery!" ;)

Yup, Matt seems to have done a decent job with his new machine and indeed, very similar in spec to Nick's Jag.
Guess we will have to see how it performs against both the Jag and its older counterpart.

I'll be getting my Jag with the next batch that arrive, I've heard nothing but praise for the machine by people who have bought one.... I can hardly wait.... :)
-
I knew of this machine at the start of june when i went to see the airflex turbo in action while we where staying up the road at center parcs.
I was getting the turbo as back up to my prowler but decided to hang fire when matt told me this was only a couple of months from production.
Got to say if it is the same spec as the jag which i believe it to be it also has the added benefit of looking far more impressive to the customer.

I agree, I want one!! ;D
-
Who cares what it looks like if it is basically built to hardly ever feel tarmac on it's wheels.
-
Neil, the Storm is alot lighter than its older brother the Turbo. One less vaccum motor (and maybe other changes?) have made this possible.
I have an Airflex and its very easy to move about.
-
I agree it looks nicer but as an educated guess is that the Scorpion will be lighter it's just a matter of who you want to buy from.

I have felt the weight of the Jaguar and they are very light. I plan on leaving mine on the van and am looking to have a propane gas fuelled heat exchanger fitted too.
The Jaguar isn't an oil painting, granted, but I'm not planning on showing it in a 'Miss World' contest ;D
-
both good companies both nice guys to deal with .
gees glad i am not in the market for a new porty would be getting sore head . bit like walking into a lap dancing bar and trying to pick your female of choice prob go for the pretty one so would get the jag i mean airflex hiccup

The remote control sounds goods and the 'network of service engineers' is a good idea.

The remote control sounds goods .
Alternatively a set of 3 remotes from B&Q cost about £15 so any portable can have this too.

Colin
Where are you getting the heater from
-
Jim...
At the moment we're looking at getting one sent from America.
-
There are more 6.6ers on the horizon.
Some machine are requiring new waste tank designs and strengthening as they can't handle them.
-
Can you give us more details?
Shaun

Have you looked at the hot boxes the pressure washers use think they are only £600-£700 but
dont know if they could handle so little pressure

How much. ? Is it the one ED goes on about on his clips would love to know if they can produce steam and if running costs are affordable

I have been using the Storm for the last month and its been a brilliant bit of kit. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it to anyone. I have the airflex turbo and am impressed with the way this newmachine has developed. I use it solely as a van mounted system with a freshwater tank in the van meaning that I dont have to bucket in water anymore and a waste tank which collects all the dirty water. This happens via the remote control system which when used - turns off the vacs and automatically dumps the waste in the dirty tank. I can do this from anywhere in a property.
The amount of time saved is quite staggering really. I rate this machine highly and its improved my productivity no end.
Very happy :)

What are these remotes at BQ

With the auto dump and auto fill, is this machine a viable alternative to a truck mount?
Mr B
-
The pump gets up to 800 psi and I have cleaned several jobs using the pressure the pump delivers.
I think that a petrol driven truckmount must deliver but does the difference justify the extra costs and maintenence?
Im happy to think that the customer is paying to run the machine when Im at their property.

Shaun
Been told they should be launched at next Carpex in March 2012.
-
Which suppliers?
Shaun
Dependent on size any 2 vac motored porty could in theory have these vac motors fitted.
-
Does anyone here use a propane powered heater? and if so, what are the implications on your insurance premiums, ie carrying and operating?
-
Hi joe michaels
So do you have to switch off the vacs in order to auto dump? Cos if thats right it doesn't really sound like auto dump to me!
Also why would you need auto dump if you are running tanks?
Got any pictures of it all set up in the van so i can see how the tanks are plumbed?
Cheers Goron
-
Same here joe wouldnt mind a look too.
I also run my 3 vac set up form the van and also have a large water tank plumbed into the van and transfer the water via a pump into my fresh water tank in the portable.

Neil,
Nice point, but youre just a tad off being mathematically correct. An RX20 on a TM can clean 125 sq yds per hour, whereas a portable, with stops for filling and emptying, repositioning etc can do around 25 to match the quality of the RX. So that's 5 portables with say three men operating and servicing them to keep up with one RX, which never needs to stop. Then consider the Titan 875 can clean non stop with three RX20's simultaneously. So to keep up with that you would need 15 portables with a 9 man team., matched against a team of 4 running the TM.
So get your hand in your pocket you need three more Airflex's. ;D ;D
-
Yes carpet Knights - when you operate the remote contol and switch off the vacs, the waste tank in the Airflex automatically empties into a bigger waste tank on the van. Having never had a machine which offers this facility - I thought this was best described as autodumping. Sorry if that confused anyone.
Am away until the weekend but more than happy to post some pics.

Just been on the website. That is one impressive machine, very innovative and good value for the money. A lot better than that horrible Jaguar thing which looks like a skip on wheels.

I wonder if they will give you 6 of them in part ex for a TITan ;D ;D
-
I'm sure they'd give up making portables if they saw what a Titan can do ;D
-
Those new 6.6 motors are only £96 + shipping. I might get a couple and upgrade my machines.

I also have the Airflex turbo and have never had a problem getting it about and i am a skinny wimp, does this have the same motors as the Jaguar ? i agree that looks are unimportant if the spec is different but all things being equal would you rather have a machine that looks good and shows your customers you have decent impressive looking equipment
