If you look at portys nowadays they have 5.5" vac motors, I can remember when the top end ones had 7.2" vac motors now the newest machines have the new 6.6" vac motors!
Is it me or have we been going backwards to go forwards? or is it the fact that with larger water pumps that the voltage/amps just won't take 2 bigger vac motors with a 600psi pump, or is it down to space?
I have noticed that Solution and Cleansmart now sell machines with 6.6" vac motors and it doesn't half make me confused as 15 years ago (or more) Extracta were selling a double vac 7.2" machine albeit with a 100psi water pump!
Is it down to design that a smaller vac motor operates as good as a 7.2"?
Perhaps someone could enlighten me as I am wondering which porty to buy (money waiting etc etc)

ask each supplier for the serial number of the vacs so you can go onto the official lamd/amtec site and check the actual performance figures for each vac.
perhaps the technology is going the same way as everything else, mobile phones used to called 'bricks' because of their size but now the do 100times more but are a tenth of the size.
vac motors might be the same, same performance out a of a smaller design, the only true way to find out is to cut out the sales talk and go direct to the manufacturers figures

Will this be the next step? will it need 3 plugs?
