anyone else tried one yet?

Well if there anything like the other blue ones they can keep them, bloody thing keeps falling over,FREE STANDING HOSE REEL my arse,I had to cut about 20 meters of hose off it so it would'nt get tangled up around the sides.
-
i have 5 of the old sort. i fix them to the van floors so they don't go anywhere. the sides do need to be a bit deeper too but i find after finding the 'knack' they are no real issue
-
my blue one i had 2 planks of wood across the bottom of it. Hasn't fell over in 3 years now
-
The new gardiners one is fantastic,
I had the blue PF one...
Bit like comparing a 2CV to an M3 !

Which gardiners reel was it?

The gardiners hose isn't as good as the purefreedom one (providing they haven't changed that in the last 4 years). My purefreedom hose is pretty worn now, so this week I started using the gardiners hose and reel I purchased a while back.
I was round the back of a house today and lost water from the brush jets. Went round the front to check it out to discover that the hose had kinked and stopped the flow. This never happened once in 4 years with my old hose.

hose i use is streamline hose

When you say "purchased a while back", how long back?
Gardiners have recently changed their mini & microbore spec. There is a huge difference in them too, their latest hose is the best I've used, as good as the original Cleantech minibore. It has a smaller OD, is very supple & is memory free- meaning less tangles & very little spring on the reel. Top stuff. ;)

2cv to an m3 are you sure? i thought you were gonna show me one of their premium reels they do.
mine should be here today so lets hope they are alright :)

ive got the £37 one.(premium metal lightweight reel).great reel.no problems and cheap and affordable to replace after a few years if needed.
-
Excellent Reel. Good quality, bearings nice. Probably best fixed on a rotator but great.
-
mines just turned up.
I like the fact its all ready built so no faffing about. The only thing i'm dissapointed in is that the fittings kit doesn't come with it. Its not advertised with it but i guess as i'm used to it coming altogether it was dissapointing. The handle seems close to the floor as well when you reel in so i don't know if thats gonna cause some scrapped knuckles. I hope not.
Does looks and feel very durable though but i guess time will tell

The handle too close to the floor means in my book they may go back to the drawing board.

Winpro, I purchased the hose and reel from gardiners around march time.
Coincidently, I used it yesterday for the first time with hot water because I had a minging conny roof to clean and it ballooned up to about double the size. I thought it was going to explode. Couldn't even reel it back in because it was burting out of the reel housing like Jordan in a tight fitting sports bra.
Not happy with the quality at all

Whilst we do not rate our standard Microbore for hot water use this still does not sound right - what was the temperature of the water coming out of the hot water system?
As long as your water is not excessively hot it sounds like you might need a replacement reel of Microbore.

I meant to say I've got the gardiners reel.takes 10 mins to put together.I'm very happy with mine.does the job.

Yeah but when it gets tangled up & you throw a wobbly & kick the crap out of it, it loves you again 2 minutes later! :-*

Very good real so far. Sturdy

After using it for a while, I'm a bit disappointed. Despite changing the male hoselock, it is still leaky, but I can move it about and eventually the dripping is acceptable. Of course it does mean that the hose has to come out of the van for every job which is a pain. The worst thing though is that the hose continually gets caught in the gap between the frame and the reel. It seem poor design to me.
