I have ford escort 75 van.
My mate serviced today at his garage.
told me rear wheel bearing is going, he spun wheel and i could hear.
only thing is i had done 2 years ago, last time it was bad and damaged hub which had to be done also.
so 2 years ago had new hub and wheel bearing.
Isn't it a bit soon for wheel bearing to go i done 20,000 miles since last bearing.
I keep within my weight payload i have 10 barrels on board 250kg and trolley ladder and usual.
Was going to leave bearing to be done when mot is at start of sept (a month)
Is that too far away? (my mate didn't think so, But not his problem ;D not that noisey yet!)
Any ex-mechanics on here.
Any advice guys.
thanks lee

lee if i was you i would get it done now because if its left to long you will have to pay more out for the extra damage it will cause. so in the long run don't chance it mate.

check and then double check that not 1 bit of old grease or crud is in the hub when the new bearing set is fitted . otherwise that gritty crud can later start to mess up the new bearings
-
only a wheel bearing it takes about 10 minutes to fit to be on the safe side and they aren't expensive
-
Just get it done mate, not worth the risk of leaving it
-
The bearing needs to be packed with grease properly not everyone does this. Make sure this done should get a few extra miles out of it.

Get it done chap
