Some of you may already know my good friend John Bryden (MRC/NCCA/IICRC) and the story of his late daughter Kirsty.
On Friday 12th August John will set off from on a 5,000 mile - 3 weeks tour circumnavigating the UK on Kirsty's 125cc Honda, by coastal roads only, to kick start The Kirsty Bryden Memorial Trust www.kirstyskids.org (http://www.kirstyskids.org)
I plan to ride up and start off with John from Lochailort in the Highlands, over to Skye on the Ferry and back over the bridge. I then plan to meet up with him again when he gets to Dundee running with him round Fife, Kincardine to Edinburgh.
Any other bikers on here that can meet John on his journey and run with him would be appreciated. I am sure it will be a great boost to his morale on what is sure to be a gruelling journey. If you dont have a bike take your van!!
Updates of Johns progress will be posted to the Trusts website www.kirstyskids.org (http://www.kirstyskids.org) and their Facebook Page www.facebook.com/kirstyskids (http://www.facebook.com/kirstyskids) his route can be found here www.kirstyskids.org/john.pdf (http://www.kirstyskids.org/john.pdf)
Donations to the Trust can be made here http://kirstyskids.org/index.php?id=4 (http://kirstyskids.org/index.php?id=4) any contribution will help massively.
Please 'Like' the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/kirstyskids (http://www.facebook.com/kirstyskids) to help spread the word and raise awareness of John's journey, the wonderful work Kirsty did in her short life and support the trust to ensure that the help and support she provided can continue.

been chatting to john on facebook, really nice bloke, his story is extremely emotional, hope my £10 helps out, good luck john.
-
£10 from me, all the best. Sounds like she achieved more in her short life than most people would dream of. He ought to be a very proud man.
All the very best,
Ash

Just back from my holiday and I've donated.
Best of luck to John for the trip. What a great tribute from a loving dad.

the miss said will donating on monday,
great respect to the man, how noble a cause.
hits home when you read subjects like this then you think of your own kids :'(
we are no where near any of those areas on the lists but with the volume of traffic on here I dare say there will be a cleaner, owner, director living or working from at every part of his trek to give a little support
respect to the man most highly

Rang and emailed all the local media next to me, If everyone else near johns route ( The coast anywhere in the UK ) could do the same, a little solidarity for what I'm sure everyone thinks is a very worthy cause, we might help him pass his target.

He called me this morning to say he has been soaking wet for 4 days. Ran out of fuel but got on the road again when an old boy donated him some from his shed. His water proofs have blown away whilst trying to dry them. He has lost his fleece. All his t-shirts are wet and his phone charger is bust.
I have some t-shirts he gave me on Friday to take back to Cupar with me for when he gets down to Cupar, Fife. The only detour he will make from his coastal route. I have a set of waterproofs for him here too.
Progress has been slow due to wind and rain but he is starting to clock up the miles. Kirstys little ex CBT training 12hp Honda is holding up well considering the conditions it is being exposed to.
I travelled from Skye back to Fife on Friday on my 100hp Yamaha and I was soaked and knackered. John has been through best part of 4 days of this with only 12hp to haul his ass (Eeyore) Anyone who can meet him on his route on 2 wheels or even in your van to show him support will be a huge boost.
Follow his progress at www.Facebook.com/kirstyskids (http://www.Facebook.com/kirstyskids) please like the page and help spread the word of his challenge and ultimately the good work it will do providing rest bite care.
Donations can be made at www.kirstyskids.com (http://www.kirstyskids.com) or give them to John in person. He decided at the last minute he was gonna carry a donation bucket along with everything else loaded up. He tells me every coin that lands in it helps power him on.
