Fed up replacing burnt out transfer submersible pumps from I.b.c tank, can anybody on the forum give me a better way of transfering water i.e a pump connected to the bottom valve outlet need to fill up 2 vans a day around 1800 litres or a better quality pump than pure freedom dirty water pumps.

I have got through a couple of pumps as well. I don't think they are very well made.

This will depend almost entirely on the quality of the submersible pump that is used. There are a lot of cheap ones on the market that Lidl's etc sell from about £20 which realistically are never going to last well (and don't).
I fitted a quality one to my very first static system (£210) and it lasted 10 years - I have only just (6 months ago) burnt it out and that was entirely my fault as I left it running with the end valve shut-off and forgot to walk back and switch it off. The next day for some reason it didn't want to work!!!
I had a cheap (£20) one that I had picked up as a spare and fitted that to keep me going and it was so pathetic in flow rate that I took it straight off and went and got another expensive one which has been going ever since.

Not sure why this keeps happening going to screw fix to buy one just to get the tanks filled up but there must be a more reliable pump. I keep the triger open befor the pump is switched on, after filling I always with draw the pump out of the tank just wondering if the pure water damages the seal between the impeler ond motor.

Thanks for the replies,Alex where did you get your pump from.
-
I get through about 1 every 6 months, always in warrenty so I just exchange them.very annoying though, £210 for a pump is a little out of my budget!

Try machine Mart, Hippo 2 or 2a good pump?.
-
Mine's been going for four and a half years so far (fairly cheap) I use quite large pipes though about inch and a half
Maybe I've been lucky.
Thinking it's about time I stocked up on spares soon like pump and controller, transfer pump etc.
Booster pump too that runs all day long and shouldn't be used for more than an hour. :o

I bought a Robinsons Stainless steel sewage pump,80l/min over 9 years ago - cost nearly £300 but it's still going strong. 1" outlet hose with petrol pump style nozzle. Fills at a very fast rate.

Mine's become a pain in the bum to use recently. Got to bounce it in the water to get the pump running. This is also my 2nd pump in a few years.
Alex, what brand of pump is the one that's lasted you 10 years?

I have had the same hippo pump since October 2003.
Very good it even has an auto shut off
Argos used to sell them. Not sure if they do now.

the box that drops to a certain level then cuts the pump cable tie this to the cable that goes to the plug socket.

I bought it from Omnipole originally, but I cannot remember what brand it was, as it was so long ago when I purchased it. However I did make sure I replaced it with one of similar quality - a Venezia 900.
-
I got one from screwfix about 3 1/2 years ago for about £50, I use 1 1/4" transfer hose and a remote, and pump still going strong.
-
I'm still using my original pump that I got from omnipole over 7 years ago never missed a beat
-
I bought a cheapo from toolstation two years ago for £36, still going strong now
-
This is mine. Bought it over two years ago and never had a problem. You'll get what you pay for IMO.
