Hi to be honest the nut behind the machine is the most important at that money so would say spend as much as you can on training then take your pick of machine that you feel is the best "remember owning a Ferrari does not make you a fast driver"
what sort of areas are you talking about? what sort of carpet do you have? you might be better off getting some one local in on a budget/long term contract

buy a good bonnet system like this...

then spend the rest sending the member of staff who will use it on a training course on how to clean carpets

Thanks for your replies.. have a new Site Agent so looks like training is the first thing..

Our local County Council contract Cleaning division used to be NCCA members
Personally I would go for a small machine from Alltec or Ashbys or other suppliers
You get a lot of kids being sick in schools and you need to deal with ASAP

i think a prochem fivestar would be ideal , small and convienient and easy to use, prochem also provide the training needed and the chemicals.
they are also extremely pc on which chemicals are correct for use in schools as health and safety is paramount.

I would agree with this, I have 6 on the go and they are perfect for this kind of job.
Good performance, compact, tidy and easy to maintain. Just check vac cover for cracks and footplate for damage if buying used, they sometimes take a few bumps to the front and can get damaged after time.
Apart from that all good and can go for around £300 on ebay, bargain.

Where are you located....willing to do a free demo or arrange the nearest Prochem agent to do it.

I did an entire school with this package Tue and Wed. The results were terrific! I would add that I used Surround Free

It would also be a great idea to get a spotting machine to help get rid of blue tac and other hard to remove stains. I use a Hippo http://www.restormate.co.uk/epages/15094.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/15094/Products/HIPPO1 and they do a mighty fine job for such a small machine!
I would also highly recommend a good vacuum cleaner. I use a Kirby but a lot of guys on here use Sebos.
Might be worth a trip to Restormate where John and Lynn will be happy to show you how to use the equipment!
