Title: Dip Tanks For Sale
Post by: neilgly on August 01, 2011, 11:46:12 am
I have two dip tanks available for sale.
Details of the tanks are as follows:

- Both tanks are identical and each has a capacity of approximately 100 lts
- The decarbonising liquid is heated using an element that is powered by electricity. We rigged the tanks into our vans and left them in our industrial unit overnight connected to 13 amp sockets. This heated the liquid up for the following day.
- The tanks are single skinned but we used 22mm thick kingspan boards to lag the outside of the tank. It worked well and kept the liquid hot throughout the day.

These tanks are meant to be used in commercial kitchens but they worked well in our vans. They are on castors but this actually helped when we did jobs such as our canopy cleaning and collection services. It should be easy to replace the castors with custom made feet, if needed.

If you have any questions let me know.

Regards
Neil

Hiya.

Are these stainless throughout or do they have alloy inside, how much do you fill them and how do you get on with spillage whilst on the road.

Reason Im asking, I have an electric plastic tank bolted to the rear of the van (caustic) I need something that is a bit easier to get in and out when needed?

Also,  where are you based and what sort of weight is in these?

Cheers, Paul.

Hi Paul,

The answer to your questions are as follows:

1)   They are stainless steel throughout
2)   They are 100lt tanks and we were filling them up half way (50Lt) when doing domestic oven cleans and we were using heat resistant rubber/foam to seal the lids. We were going to put holding clips on the lid that would then hold and secure the lid shut but we ended up using ratchet straps instead, which seemed to work.
3)   We are based the Atherstone, Warks and the weight of the decarbonising unit itself (including lid and basket) is approximately 25kg. The decarbonisers are on castor's so are easy to  maneuver once it is out the van.

If you have any more questions give me a shout.

Neil
