Hi Guys
reading around on this forum seems like lots of us sooner or later, will have to re-glue clamps to our poles.
Now most guys I know use Araldite or similar then 6 months later are having to do it all over again.
I had to do mine recently and after chatting to a joiner friend he said try this stuff.... 'Sticks Like Sh*t' (yes that is its proper name!) It is a Silicone adhesive, and I can't tell you just how good this sort of product is!!! You can even use in the wet!
its available from Screwfix and similar shops.
I think the pole manufacturers use araldite and similar but it goes rock hard like cement, well the poles are fibreglass, carbon fibre ect and they flex & move, cement type glues don't allow for movement, silicone adhesive does!
Just make sure you buy ADHESIVE and not Sealant! Don't use Gripfill either again it goes rock hard and will sooner or later snap and brake under movement. Silicone adhesive has the flexibility that we all need.
I now keep a tube in van permanently, I've repaired three gutter leaks this week already with this stuff and charge the Custy £20 a pop for this service.! PROFIT! love it!
There are loads of these products on the market, its now a 'must have' in my box of tricks!
Hope this helps someone.
Goochie.

Good post,
I found it useful as one of my has come off.
Cheers

Might be a good idea to email it to the pole manufacturers ............. Then their customers won't have to buy it lol

Just send them the bill every time a clamp comes off! ha ha ha

I've given up on araldite and use black electrical tape.
It looks a bit crap but works really well!

Sniff it.
Seriously, though, =Araldite is needed for the Gradiner poles.

Never had a problem with my gardiners clamps on my clx (maybe im a lucky one)
I have however had to re-glue nearly all the clamps on my previous brodex pole (all 3 poles) and never had a problem with araldite
