Title: Pole technique
Post by: Steve Sed on July 29, 2011, 01:51:54 pm
I was wondering how you use your poles. I used to use the bottom heavier sections to go to first floor windows. Now I use the top lightest sections to extend. It's easier, but you don't get as much weight on the window and it's less rigid. I use an xtel carbon cross pole and it is quite heavy. I can't justify a carbon pole yet sadly.

I'm the same as you mate, i always hold the fat end of the pole. I tried it the other way but its very whippy. I now know why they shove the brush on the thin end.

Sometimes I forget that it is the brush that does the work and not how hard I push the brush onto the glass...

have you seen Ionics Grafter poles. Cheap and they are very light and collapse to a handy size for my combo van + when cleaning those windows in really tight areas. i love my 21ft pole only cost £144
