any ideas how to sort this - block paving drive white and a bad mess.
this is what ive been told by customer- driveway was cleaned and sealed about 4 years ago the company used resiblock. After about 2 years another company came along and sealed it with i guess an acrylic sealer.
I have cleaned it and it looks fine wet but dry it looks BAD!
Since ive been in the road ive been approached by a few different people turns out there are 5 in the road with same prob.
How can get these looking better, 1 is going to relay drive but told him to hang fire.
any suggestions apart from walk away!

Sounds like someone has sealed a damp/wet drive, as Kevin said post some photos, and I'll also try to help.

Roger I bet it is as he says - acyrlic on polyurethane. I had one once and soda blasted it. Resiblock suggested a belt sander.

Sounds like it, Belt sander nice idea Resiblock!!!!!!!! not.
There is a chem that will remove Resiblock, the acyrlic can/might be washed off, in fact did one yesterday with no more then a turbo lance. A "Travelers Job" from what I can gather, why people buy into these door knocking services then get ripped off I have no idea.
Would want to see photos really.

Lee Kenny from Wigan was/is stripping a P.I.C drive this week with paint stripping chem that has been messed up in this way, acrylic on poly.

Yep, about £80 a drum.

test to see if it's PU first by putting a bit of 'acrylic' sealer dissolver down in a corner somewhere, wipe it up,then powerwash the area... then put some brick acid on that area, if it bubbles and reacts with the concrete then you know you have lifted whatever sealer was on there - acrylic... if the acid doesn't react then chances are it's one of the cheap so called PU's off ebay for £50... basically PU varnish, also a good indication is to ask the customer how much they paid last time to have it sealed as resiblock (proper PU) costs around £5 - £6 per m2 just for the sealer and application labour... thats on top of the cleaning/sanding!

resiblock did tell me that once "22" or "superior" are down, you wont be able to just seal over again with another type of sealer as the resin soaks into blocks so other sealers dont soak in. its another reason to forget sealing. moss grows ontop anyway!

also another reason you can't seal over it is because it's really resistant to chemicals, hence the solvent in the overlay sealer won't break it down... therefore not creaing any kind of bond or 'key'... therefor when acrylic is sealed over, or even another PU it lifts and peels off after a short time

As your man says you cant seal over resiblock full stop!
If you have put a solvent based sealer on top of a water based sealer over time will delam and look white!
Resiblock will tell you to reseal a resiblock treated drive you have to sand it first or will delam thats why they are now selling a solvent based sealer!
