hi people
just wanted to check if this sounds about right to you
tds out of tad 129 ppm
tds out of merlin 20 ppm
does this sound about right to you?

Sounds a bit high to me ? whats your water pressure ? are you using a booster pump ??

ohhhhhhhhhh thats bad !
you really need a proper booster pump (24/7 running) to get the pressure upto at least 60 psi

oww dont say that!!
is that why tds is high?
call me a bumpkin but im strugling to understand how low preasure will make a high tds
just thought it would take longer to fill the tank,

Basically the higher the pressure the better the membrane filters out the particles ( don't ask me why )
and in particular the Merlin really needs 60 to 80 psi - i don't think the low pressure does the longevity of the membranes any good either, good news is with your lowish tap TDS if you add a pump your post Merlin TDS should defo achieve under 10 and possibly under 5
SO.... your resin would last for like - years or even do away with it altogether

My Incoming Water was 120-150 tds depending on weather conditions.
Outgoing after my Merlin with booster pump at 55 psi was 20-28 tds.
Mine was affected by low volume of available water as well as low pressure.
Without the booster pump it wasn't enough pressure to open the inlet valve.
My mates same set up with incoming at 300 tds, fed to Merlin input by 1 inch bore hose, so tremendously high volume of water available, through booster pump at about 70 psi produced an outgoing merlin product of around 11-15 tds.

i think i will have a low volume of water due to the way i have my fill set up
so it may not make much difference to tds?
or just fill tank kwicker with booster pump?

Certainly get more product produced per hour at higher pressure but obviously depends on if your supply can match demand.
Seem to get less percentage waste at higher pressure as well. Check the rejection ratio between waste and product and that should tell you about the volume available. Mine was 4:1 at 55 psi but my friends was 2.5:1 at 70 psi. So presumably the membranes are working more efficiently when driven harder.
Water temperature is interesting too. Colder water is more dense so you theoretically have more volume of water available at the same pressure. I found that product production was better in the Spring and Autumn and should be great in the Winter until it freezes and produces nothing!
