Just called a customer to leave gate unlocked tomorrow easy job @ £8 bi monthly ... was getting increased to £10 tomorrow but she didnt know that :D
Her .... "oh er mmmm the builders are coming Monday to start the extension and conservatory so no point in cleaning them"
Me ... No problem ... I will call you August then ?
Her ... "oh er mmmm leave it to January"
Me .. must be a big conservatory ... my house didnt take 6 months to build ?
Her .. "ok thanks see you in January"
As I do about 9 houses on the cul de sac I will watch this HUGE building project with interest.
Smell a bit of bull crap ?
Problem is she will still expect it done for the £8 .... that wont be happening of course :o :o

Had the same exactly the a couple of months ago. Couple are having an extension (2/3 the size of their house) and a conny for the guys mother who's moving in. Have been keeping my eye on it and its going slowly. Their date is begining of december for completion... reckon it will take that long to finish.
Difference is that i text mine the night before, got there, cleaned the windows and then they told me work was starting next week ;D They have said they know it will be a fair bit more and as soon as its done they want me round straight away ;D

Had this once before with a large house in the country:
'We're just having some new windows and some other work done. Leave us your card and we'll call you in about a year."
Like that's ever going to happen.
Nearly a year later and almost to the day I get a phone call:
'Can you give us a quote tomorrow?'
I did and cleaned their windows for ten years until they moved again.

Been let down by customers too often (motor trade customers)
Perhaps I should have more faith lol

im still waiting for a custy get in touch from about a year ago,said he was having the rear garden done or summat like that, and would phone me in a couple of months,no change in the garden like,im sure he has misplaced my number ;D

simple get rid ive come across this a few times they cant afford any more or they have had some one else canvasing ???

not all bad picked up a new customer 6 doors down £10 monthly so all good
