Title: how do you find out market size

anyone got any tips to find out market size of your area i.e number of houses in your town??

iv rang council but said i need to pop in n get from electoral records

is there any easier ways??? i.e from internet

About five lines from the bottom, click on the CSV link.

It downloads a file that extracts itself into another set of files.  One of them is an explanation of the headings in the other files, which makes the nonsense mean something.  You'll need Excel or Open Office to read them.

From that lot, you can check by postcode sector how many semis, detached, flats etc there are.

All data from 2001 but that should be OK for most areas.

Why would you want to know how many houses are in your twn/city? you ain't gonna be able to clean them all so don't worry.

the more doors you knock = the more customers you gain

Experian data .... I used it for my business plan last year
