Hi all,
Regarding window cleaning software, I'm trying to verify what the hierarchy of usage is for Windows / Mac and mobile devices.
If you use window cleaning software can you get back to me with details of what you currently use?
Negative and positive for the package you use would be helpful as well
Thanks in advance

We have developed software that is web-based so you can use it on your mac or your PC without any problems. You can also view the jobs on your mobile phone.
We are looking for as many cleaning companies as possible to use it and tell us what they like about it and what they don't. You can sign up for a free account on our website:

It has been designed with flexibility in mind, so it won't have all the presets that you would have with something like window cleaner pro, but I would be really interested to hear what kind of things window cleaners want to store - we can then just set these presets up onto the system.
In terms of window cleaning specific software, the main ones seem to be Window Cleaner Pro and George. I must admit, Window Cleaner Pro looks like much better software to me

think you have priced out of the window cleaning market really (we are a tight lot ;D) there is something out there already for around a tenner a month although that is per user http://george.aworka.com/ but good luck...

I guess it depends on how many users you have got then. As soon as you have got two users, our software works out cheaper!
Also, I do genuinely think it depends how you work - my background is from the waste and recycling market and we looked around a while for something and although we saw a number of different systems, some of them just felt more "right" than others to us.
I would suggest get a demo of a few systems and go with the one that works for you. I'm not in this for the hard sell - anyone who uses our software has an ongoing relationship with us - I don't want to set myself up for an ongoing headache of someone who is using software that doesn't quite work for them!
The auto signup process is going up over the weekend, but if you are chomping at the bit to set up now, PM me and I can do it now 8)

I use george on a mac but with xp installed in bootcamp and pocket George on a palm. Im concerned though as this is old tech. I would like a either a native app on mac and iOS or android. That can sync through the net. Too be honest browser based systems wont work mobile. Server based is a different matter. You need the apps to back up the data when you have no or poor data links.
Programs that will only work through a web browser are only as good as your Internet connection.
Simon.

I use spreadsheets and databases on MSWorks 6.0 myself - recently loaded it onto Windows 7 OK following a computer purchase. It took longer to set up. It's also higher maintenance than more task specific programs. The beauty of it for me though is that because I set it up how I want it, it's easier for me to tweak if I want to change something - rather than waiting for a software writer's update that may never come.

Quite right, not a great start. :-[
It is now up and running though as long as you are in the UK. All you need to do is put in your email address and time zone:

If you are in a different time zone then it will be up and running in a week or so.

That does depend upon the system you are using. We have deliberately designed our system to be user definable as far as possible, so that you can change things as you go along.

I've not got around to looking yet and I'm pretty tired right now. So, just a quick question. I was put off some other software a while back as the data export function was non-existent - effectively tying me in if I didn't want to re-type everything. Does your software have an adequate data export facility - particularly the ability to save as .csv? This would allow a user to more easily revert to their previous software if they find that your software isn't for them. Ok, so the formulae would need to be re-done but I would keep a template for that to save re-doing them all.

The quick answer is yes.
The longer answer: yes, you can get all your data back out as .csv files. We have a custom report function within Malinko, which means that you can not only get all your data back out, but you can define how you want that data to look within the parameters of the reporting engine.
I absolutely agree that this is essential for being able to test software to see if it suits you.
The reporting function is currently being used for things such as mail merges, doing searches for lapsed customers as well as pulling off lists of cleaning activity within a given period.
