Rained a lot last week but just kept going and no one complained apart from 1 old dear who agreed that the rain wasnt going on her glass as most windows are recessed or under a soffit so unless very windy wont hit glass.
Any ways now a day ahead and able to do some canvassing or just may take a day off. ;D
Normally a day or 2 behind so well happy

Exactly Ian that's why at the start of the year we made the decision to work in the rain and we have not lost a single day yet this year!!
But I'm still a little behind on my work but only cos of the amount of it ;D
Good on ya ;)
-
Not only we work in the rain, we work even in the snow :D
-
;D move to Scotland you will have no choice in what weather you work in :D

I crack on in the rain. If anyone wants me to leave it then i do until the next month, it seems pointless to not work because one or two might not like it. On the plus side for tradders, the rain can wash the soap suds off the frames and sills !!!

I have had so many people pull faces or make comments about cleaning in the rain. Even light rain, come to think about it, even when it looks like rain on occasions.
I try to press on but get this feeling that many are unhappy about it

recently, ive chosen to pull faces back ,its do or die now. ive bought my lads waterproofs and some unusual overtrousers(silk lined) from ebay so that work continues in all weathers.
any whiners or dirt kickers are to be dropped on sight !

If you use filtered rainwater anyway most are happy when I explain it.
Also offer a rain guarantee.

I know its mostly OK to do them in the rain but the number of times I have had
"you can't do them in this"
or variations along those lines

ive worked in heavy rain, snow, ice, strong wind, hailstone etc but i dont usually if its that bad unless its a commercial job.
i seem to remember during the snow last year most guys had a few weeks off.me included.i did start doing a few half days though after a few weeks off.albeit with a trad pole(no wfp)due to it being -2 in the afternoon!! ;D ;D ;D
most rainy days are showers so i crack on.on the washout full on rainy ones i dont bother and enjoy the time off.
guys who havent started already.get an emergency fund built up for those lazy winter days!you ll enjoy them more when you know you have money to fall back on! ;) ;D ;D.

Its more the ones that still let you do them and pay but you can see by their face they are not happy about it. I had one woman phone up and cancel last year after I cleaned them in the snow.

ive come to the conclusion that even with a full round its best to keep on canvassing at a slow, even pace. Then the "deadwood" can be dropped easily and gently overnight . like a laxative :)
Deadwood includes weather -whiners , its folk that are bored with the lovely clean window scene that become whiners . im getting good at sensing the true deadwood on my round

i like that bobby ;)

the way you talk at times bobby if we took your advice we d have no customers left!!if they moan just miss them out until next time!i certainly dont drop customers at the drop of a hat just cos of the odd moan here and there esp if you have big chunks of compact work.
if you have 3 customers on a rainy day say "not today" you ve still cleaned a big chunk of work instead of having the day off!
this week ive had to skip 5 jobs due to building work.no problem.theyll get done next time.i just move on to the next job as ive got plenty of work to go at.
i dont bother with canvassing anymore.referrals and recommendations now.they usually turn into the best customers.the only exception is if i get a new job in another area i will canvass either side of the new account.

Dazmondo- youre in the northwest- the HOME of THE RAINCLOUD. if ever there was a man who should be getting thru several sets of waterproofs a year its you mate ;D
i have just been watching a youtube video of big logging trucks in canada, hauling out the deadwood . no room for it in a healthy forest :)
