who puts m2 price and who puts room price ?

I only put a 'from' room price as there are so many variables.

I price my leaflets......
Fixed prices....... per room....
some jobs I win ..... some jobs I lose.....
All works out even in the end... but I don't ever get price shoppers, just calls to book work.
Saves me having to go out and quote (expensive on petrol) and just makes life a lot easier..
I don't have to sell as I hate doing that ( I have been a very successful timeshare salesman and direct salesman for alarm systems, so have had it up to the back teeth of sales...)

The problem with putting a price is you tell your competition have read on here some leaflets your pricing structure.
If you put for instance if you have 12x12 room £30, £40 , £50, or £60 at what ever price point you choose people will still shop around in my opinion at what ever price point you pick and use your leaflet as the benchmark price.
I have read on here some priced leaflets are achieving good conversion rates some as high as 10 in a thousand
If this is not just a fluke and they achieve this sort of figure month in month out my theory is out of the window.

The thing with flyers is that over the decades people have come to see them as the cheap and cheerful brigade all pitching for work at silly prices. That may not be true but they seem to expect you to list out your prices and if they are cheap enough they'll ring you. The trouble is with business as tight as it is and because your USP is PRICE and so is everyone else's, you feel compelled to list ever lower prices in an effort to get the most calls and compete with the competition.
The better option is to get some really good leaflets printed, without prices, but making a case for choosing you on the basis of quality and then go door-to-door with them. You don't have to be pushy, just 'Hi, I'm your local carpet cleaner, would you mind if I leave you a leaflet?' Give them the leaflet and turn to walk away, you'll be surprised how many people will ask you to quote. The advantage now is that you are quoting on your own terms, without the client having a ream of leaflets to chose from, and hey presto you end up with good quality work at YOUR price, not ones forced upon you by your competitors.

I've done a couple of jobs recently for people who said they were holding back to get jobs done as they always have flyers put through the door at this time of year. I didn't put them through the door but they both picked them up from our local village festival. It goes to prove that people love flyers!
