Title: going rate for wages
Post by: steve rix on July 12, 2011, 10:25:42 pm
what do you pay your employees?
We pay £6.00 basic (£7.00 if you have a driving licence)
plus 30% of turnover over £15.00ph .
most our people earn between £10 and£12 ph.
We pay from when you leave the warehouse til last customer finished, inc all travelling. Is this about right?

Too much for an average worker when you factor in hol pay and employers contributions.

Especially up here.

Imo

Holiday pay is at basic rate. Most of the bonus paid in cash

yeah sounds pretty close to it - do you pay lunch breaks?

I don't but I do allocate £20 a week per man for their lunch

No we assume 30 mins for lunch, so long as they are earning bonus I am happy

Question is....   does it work for you ?

sounds a pretty fair deal to me - so if your making on it and your staff are working hard - do a good job and
your not recruiting very couple of months then it's about right

nothing wrong with paying bonuses or wages in cash - as long as its through the books.

but if you're going to tell me you put every last penny through the books......

Nothing wrong with it I agree,

I don't see that much cash these days though unfortunately.

As said, if it works, you make, they are happy and do a good job, then i cant see a problem with what your paying.

We still collect about £200/300 a day in cash. Itry to pay most small bills with it. I resent being charged to pay it in £8.50 per £1000. then being charged for debits

If a man had his own van (06 Vivaro) with a van mount (Ionics 650 ltr RO) and 5 years wfp experience as well as every other type of cleaning skill ( 10 years in the industry) under his belt would you be able to find him a spot? I would be looking to come over from September if I could be of service to your business chief. Gone dead here in Eire.
