seems alot of us are talking about gutter vacs now.
so are we getting even more lazy or safety aware?
or
are they getting cheaper to buy or diy?

They are getting cheaper and smaller, Nothings changed, only people are are trying to get away with less than half the power of the original Omnivacs. Small vac equalls smaller cheaper Generator too, They all have limitations and won't work on every job.

i allready have a system worked out for me and the mrs
I go up the ladder, losen all the crap, my mrs using the guttervac cleans up behind me
Im also in a postion to see whats going on up there, and can shout instuctions down lol

i have seen the Lidl vac converted for gutter vac'ing - looks good for £70

i spent a load of money on an eastern vac, poles, , genny, camera etc and use ditonce and foiund it cumbersome and TBH not very good when working form the ground

got the same DIY set up as G.R . from his shopping list 1400watt wet n dry vac works quite well but the flexi hose on vac could be longer and a larger diameter as when you are using any debris bigger than an inch clogs the hose and you need to switch it off and un-block it which is a bit off a pain but it does eliminate the use of the ladder to a point .
i am looking to adapt an old pole to a pressure cleaning pole and possible loosen the dirt up or blast it out or attach a larger diameter flexi hose to an old older pole

If you have an old pole you could attach 40mm or 50mm anti kink pond hose which is a flexible hose which you could adapt and tape to the vac , i am going to attach a piece off bent copper to the end of pole to get the ideal angle to reach into the gutter , my mate has pipe bender which will do the the trick
all in the hope of eliminating afore mentioned blockages food for thought i hope chaps , mike
