I know its not exactly a window cleaning thread but my indicators dont always work on my 04 dispatch, checked fuses etc, any suggestions must be a few dispatch guys on here :)
I know the french van electrics are crap in general but any suggestions would be grand.
Thanks.

There spanish ;)
they were built by a spanish comapany and distributed via fiat, citreon & peugeot
sorry i dont know about the indicators... maybe a dogy wire / indicator relay maybe

Check the earth connection - usually in cover behind rear lights. Take it off and clean metal of van behind the connection with wire brush or similar.
Also do you have water getting in near any electrics ?

Is it all indicators or just one or one side. Do the hazards work? This will help narrow down the problem to a local "earthing" or central relay, switch prob.

Hi the hazards dont work at all, when i start the van the indicators sometimes work then after a few minutes just stop all together, rather frustrating ???

go to quick fit and get the altenator checked it might be over charging when the altenator overcharges it interfears with the lights i think its so you dont blow the bulbs ;D
altenator check is free from quick fit and if you new a new altenator get it your self off ebay or from the breakers and fit it at home ;D ;D

Thanks for that infowould the van still be starting first time every time with a knacked alternator?

yes if it is overcharing the battery would be fully charged so it will start fine but if you have got a overcharging altenator get it sorted soon as it can result in the battery blowing up and the van will go up in flames :-[

with most cars they have a safety level so you start the motor and the lights can be fine but once the altenator builts up the charge and starts to over charge the battery the saftey device cuts in to save blowing light bulbs ect you should have the battery warning light come up aswell but yours might not be working properly.
if i were you i would pop down your local quick fit now and get it checked for free

will do thanks mucho for info. :)

MJH check the earth from the battery to the inner wing, make sure it is a good solid connection

I can`t see where this is going........

I had this problem with my Dispatch, it was the Indicator relay which is on the steering wheel column, remove bottom cover then top one comes off and the relays are there in front of you, make sure you change the right one. If memory serves me right I think its the smaller of the two that are side by side.
£2 from a scrappy or bout £11 dealer price.
Good Luck
