come home from hols yesterday and the water board have fitted a shiny new meter to my house
does it make a difference to your bill
use about 3000l / month as still mainly trad but gradually moving over to wf
will be looking at about 500 / l day soon ie 10000 / l every 4 weeks
any ideas on the cost as currently unmetered is around 30 quid a month
-
are you ro or di only?if your ro then your water bill will rise dramatically due to the waste water production.im on a meter and use around 6000 L a month.
im sure my meters broke as ive had the lowest bills ever since i went wfp 14 months ago.ive not queried them though.
i think some on her are paying more like £100 a month using an RO SYSTEM.
regards
dazmond

:o £300 a month??? would it be cheaper to go di only? you could do double di too to save resin use!
-
or get a better ro?
-
yea think im going to have to do something but whatever i do will cost alot i think, hard water so will take alot of resin as well

I use a 40 inch membrane from pure freedom , my bill using 500ltrs a day plus having a newborn son is about 110 quid a month. Can't believe you are paying 300 quid ??? get a normal ro and you bill will prob be reduced by 50% ;D

may be cheaper for me to buy it in

There are plenty of ways to save water, control valves, water at the correct flow for your speed ect. And when all your work is established as wfp you will use much less as well. If you have a good ro £100 is about right for a one man band.
As far as using a merlin on a water meter, that's almost like burning money. Invest in a 4040 and you'll be quits in in just a few months.

1. You can claim water used as a business expense
2. You can also get a reduction on sewage as this assumes 95% of your water goes into the sewer. Obviously you are carting it off so its not down the sewer!
3. If you don't put the waste down the drain but let it soak away you can show that this is not to be charged as sewerage too.
Don't laugh - I have done all this and saved a fortune.

Never 1.90 PER 1000LTS 1.90 x7 =13.3 per week x4=53.2 per month and that's on a 7 day working. Southern Water Standard charge.

wait till 2A.M. and turn the meter round and that'll wid it back
