Title: MPower
Post by: clarkson on July 09, 2011, 08:52:55 pm
Hi
i have just cleaned my lounge carpet which desperately needed doing anyway. The purpose was mainly to try mpower for the first time.

i would rather try out new things where i wont ruin a custies day. i have to say i am impressed. firstly iam amazed at the dilution rate of 1/120. i got the calc out because i thought i got my sums wrong when i saw the little dribble in the jug.

second its done a good job, this carpet gets battered. i had to use a bit of spotter to remove a guiness stain thanks to my brother and a patch of coffe/tea  where the coffee table meets the settee. apart from this its pulled everything out nicely.

I have one issue. until now all products i use involved a citrus base. the m power smells of nothing. so you get the smell of wet carpet for a few hours. i use to love the orangy tang in the air.

can anyone reccomend a nice deoderiser that can accompany mpower. post spray or in the tank.

cheers

john

get some lemon concentrate from restormate, slap it on a cloth and wipe a few door frames etc  ;D ;D ;D

Don't get it on you though as you'll stink of the stuff, I smashed a bottle in my van and it hummed for weeks!!

I use MPower/Nemesis and do not add any thing.
I am concerned what I may add may kick off an asthma attack or some allergy.
More then a few clients have said "oh doesnt it smell nice".
Wondering what they are smelling I ask what doe it smell of.
"just fresh".
and so it should, if cleaned well soiling causing nasty smells has been removed.

Usually the customer is happy that they can, for once, smell their own air freshener... :)

Surely if cleaning wool then a deodoriser is a must. NI 172 from Restormate is good.

Just been on restormate for a looky at ni 172

First though was a bit pricey for such a little bottle but the description of it makes it sound great.

Does it live up to the description Dave??

The World famous NI-712 eliminates the worst odors in 3 1/2 seconds. The Manufacturer of this product states “One Puff is Enough”…and it certainly is! Super-concentrated, one spray keeps an average 10’ x 10’ x 10’ room odour-free for up to eight hours. NI-712 actually eliminates odours – it doesn't just cover them up! Used by carpet cleaners who see the importance of leaving the room smelling clean and fresh - especially when using a plain water rinse.

This product has come highly recommended to us by some of our Carpet Cleaning customers. A fantastic product especially if you use a plain water rinse but still want to impress the customer with a pleasant fragrance after cleaning. After all, if it smells clean - it is clean! One single spray is all that is needed - the room is filled with a pleasant fragrance that lasts for hours. But it does more than just smell nice. NI-712 is one of the most powerful spray odour eliminators on the market - so powerful it's even used in mortuaries!

Probably the very best room spray on the market.
Very economical. Over 500 sprays per 473ml bottle and remember "One Puff is Enough!".
Eliminates bad smells naturally. It attacks the molecular structure.
Eliminates any 'wet dog' smells after carpet cleaning.
No smell too tough – smoke, urine, vomit, faeces, bad food, or even skunk (if anyone has a Pet Skunk I'll send them a free bottle!).
Used in hospitals, nursing/care and residential homes, hotels, schools, nurseries, funeral homes and anywhere that has an odour problem.
US tests show that NI-712 is nearly TWICE as effective as its nearest competitor. Guaranteed to end bad smells better than any other liquid deodourant.

Despite being probably the best room spray on the market, NI-712 works out cheaper than a normal supermarket aerosol spray. It lasts a very long time - in fact as long as 20 cans of domestic air freshener.

Simply spray once into the air when you finish the job. Then wait for the customer to comment on the lovely clean and fresh smell - your customers will love this

M power is the one cleaner I could not do without.
It is so versatile that we use it on carpets, curtains, upholstery and even on some not too dirty hard floors.
It is not the only cleaner that we use but certainly one that you should invest some time with.

The secret is to measure the dilution rate accurately.
120-1 for most jobs and 100-1 for real mingers.
Spray on fairly thick (it works out cheap enough to use 5-8 lts in a semi) and BRUSH IN WELL.
Leave it 10-20 mins while you set the machine up and rinse with cold-warm water with nothing else in the tank.
It needs the correct amount of water to work, mix it too strong and it won't work as well.
It took me a while to get it working but it beats a lot of other stuff especially on wee and vomit etc.

Alltec's Odour Clear. Let the custy get a whiff of it from the drum if you get the chance. Then smear it all over everything including the lightbulbs. Just kidding, ha. Its nice stuff though. Never heard it mentioned on here yet. Am I doing something wrong in not using the Prochem tak? Not bluddy likely!

Mpower Nemesis are ok but there are better and faster acting cleaners where you don't have to sodden the carpet, IMO the drying process is part of the cleaning and getting items dry quickly stops all sorts of problems later.

I have all sorts MS is a great product you apply it quite fine so not much moisture, but I change the product to suit the need.

Shaun

Do you stick to ms or do you use detergents as well? I'm currently using
cleansmarts HD and wool x also have powerburst, Liquid 90, enzall, ultrapack,
citrus concentrate and multi solve on the van but feel I'm missing something
 ???
Oh forgot nemisis

Jim, I use basically the same as you but would add Prochems purclean so I don't think you are missing something. Maybe it's application? With MS and Nemisis dwell and agitation are very important and putting the right amount down and making a judgement on what product will suit your need. MS etc are particularly flexable because there are a range of dilutions we can work with provided you rinse correctly, there is nothing wrong with adding more product to your sprayer as long as 1) you keep within the manufacturers parameters and 2) test first. I have also found the same with Ultrpac but I use that for more specialsed work as MS normally gets the job done. When I first started using it for testing I had 3 1.5l sprayers with 3 different dilution rates just to see what the difference would be. Once I had an understanding of the dilution rate for the job I got to a stage where I now look and just know what I am going to do.

I use both MS, Colloidal and detergents IMO there is no one chemical that does everything so I use experience to use the correct one per job.

Hi Shaun

I absolutely agree, I use MS and detergents mainly but have colloids, acids, alkalis, solvents, even enzymes, deodurisers etc.

I think the whole use of appropriate chemicals is one of the big gaps in CC's knowledge with little on offer to train in the fundamentals and lots of supplier bull to confuse!

Cheers
