Has in the words of Harry Hill
"Which ones best"?
Waiting for a new 35 slx and going to try the carbon Gooseneck.
I use a SL DT Flocked on my 18 slx and use a SL Mono Single trim on my 30 slx. (for rinsing on)
I know it's a preference thing, just wondered what's most popular and why.
Cheers!

extreme wide with fans

i prefer the white, the black feels too soft, but the white is the best allrounder, its also good for first cleans as well
-
I've got both & the white one is my favourite, it will do everything & like lightening! ;)
The black one is quite a bit softer & I use it on delicate glass.
-
I was going to get the white standard xtrem brush but now im waiting for the new gardiner sill brush ;D

it's due in august i think, but who knows may be delayed like the poles as well

White one for me ;)
-
Black, happy with the standard i can achieve with it
-
Black for me :)
-
Black works well for me - I like the way it allows me to move across from one pane to the next - ie. it just rides over the frame as though it isn't there - also excellent on leaded windows.
-
Waiting for the sill brush too ... 4-5 weeks away
-
ummm !!! looks like one of each then.
Thanks Guy's!

This is what seems very important to me. I use the standard black flocked dual trim(is there really anything better?) but i have the standard white dual trim which has stiffer bristles and i find it flicks and splashes water about meaning i end up rinsing adjacent window panes again in case i have just re-contaminated them.
So can anyone tell me if the white extreme has softer bristles than the standard white?

I have the extreme black. If you want my advise, if you are in any way heavy handed give the extreme black (only one i have used) a miss. I have done 65 jobs with mine and it is ready for the bin. One side of the brush is destroyed, the bristles are all over the place and I have to poke one jet about 1000 times a day because the bristles are so warped they are constanly fouling the jet.

The white Xtreme is quite a bit softer in feel than the standard white Super-Lite brushes.

Hi David
If you feel that this brush has not performed as it should, please drop me an email on alex@agardiner.co.uk with a couple of photos and I can look into it for you.

David, I had the same problem with my black one, but it was one of the first ones and may had been a "bad" one, but I now use the White extreme and it's brilliant, after a couple of months use it's still looking great and will last along time.

I have both and they are good but for me they dont beat the cleaning power of the super light dual trim flocked, this is still the best wfp brush out there imo.
I feel the extream brushes dont have enough scrubbing power or bristle contact due to the splay. I think they need a few rows of shorter bristles in between to achieve this.

Hi Alex
Like I said in the original post, it is probably me being heavy handed. It looks like the brush is damaged on both sides but it isn't. One side is spot on, one side is damaged, it's just the angles I took the pics from.

:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
what have you been cleaning with it?
-
I know, it's bad isn't it. Even when I noticed it going off and became very careful with it, it still got worse and worse. It is probably me though, banging it off brickwork.
-
Have just had an email from Alex and he agrees it is the way I am using the brush and suggests the black bristles might be too soft for my heavy handed useage. He is very kindly sending me a white brush he has used for a few demos. It is very decent of him and he didn't need to do it as I did suspect it was the way I was using it so many thanks to Alex.

Good as his word a white extreme arrived in the post today. Cheers Alex, much appreciated.

Have you given it a go yet?
-
Yes, I used it for a conny roof clean today. Really pleased with it, light and shifted the muck with ease. Loved it and I think I prefer the bristles to the black brush.
I was always concerned with the mono brush that it might clean in lines. Like when you pull a brush over sand, you see lines left. The black had more of a mop feel to me (if that makes any sense) and I was happy the glass was all being covered. The way the new extremes splay though mean I am happy that the glass is being covered with either the black or white. I do feel that for me the white will last longer than the black.

is the white become red now :D

hi
so far i agree with lee's statement just had a white extreme on an slx 30. its ok for regular cleans but where theres dirt like new cleans, connie roofs i find the bristles a bit course and not enough contact on the glass like a soft brush.
cheers
