You dont have to spend 10k to get results.
Firstly i would get as many websites done as possible for all the towns within a 10 mile radius of your business premises.
They cost £230 for the first one then £100 for it cloning for different areas. I would estimate i get 50% of all new customers through mine.
I would give any local magazines a 6 month run, i pay £45 each, for half page colour in 3 local books and do really well from them, maybe 30% of all new customers.
Then postcard / leaflet drops i drop 5000 per month and get 20% of new customers this way, the thing is you have to deliver them yourself or find someone reliable, which is the hard part.
Get your van sign written too if not already done.
Keep the same artwork throughout all ads, people will become familiar with it and look for you if they need your services.

If you do decide to use YP, Thomson, Bt etc, i would be very carefull on what you spend, it works for some but not others.
I would not be surprised if they go under in 5 years or so.

I see you already have a few sites, how do they rank on the listings.
