Does anyone have any experiences they would share about re-locating to a new area please? Will be too far away to keep regular customers by commuting back for a days work so in some ways starting from scratch.

Hi Philip
It obviously depends on how far you plan to travel.
I relocated from London to Essex but gave up CC before I went and restarted 4 years later.
Cheers

As I said, too far for viable repeat visits to previous customers

I've started my preperations, well to be honest they've been in operation for a while now.
I've been advertising in the area we intend to go, nothing too much, just enough to get the websites established and the van seen around the area when needbe.
It can be a bit of a balancing act trying to run two areas, so as people phone up from our 'new' area we try and gather enough to justify a 2 day trip to that area. It means an overnight stay but a travel lodge or similar for one night goes against business expenditure.
When/if we get to move to that new area then I'll slowly cutail the advertising and websites here and reverse the overnighters until such time as we are fully established there.

Cant you train a family member or a good trustworthy friend, get a second van and keep both areas running, a couple of grand would sort it.

sell the business and use the money to kickstart a big marketing campaign in the new area or bank the money and supplement your lower income until you are established

Derek its no good me giving him advice he only wants to relocate once, me I did it twice.
He's a very brave man and me well I'm plain stupid. :-\
Give me a call Phil and I'll have a chat this is one subject that's a little difficult to post here as there are a lot of variables involved.
