Title: at what age would let you kids work with you?

one of my daughters is 11 year old and wants to earn extra money at what age would you let your kids help with leaflet delivering ect i wouldn't want her doing any window cleaning just yet as she wouldn't be insured on my curent policy

Hi mate i have had my lad with me since he was 11 now 16 and all the customers love him he gets all the tip and i mean all the ruddy tip some days he can come back with £20 in tips and what do i get nowt never mind.

Was the same with our oldest. He used to get tips at Christmas when he came collecting with me, little git thought he could keep them!! Custies loved him, little sod.

get her collecting mate, my youngest used to come with me when i lived in scotland & his tips were nearly as much as i'd earned, it also helped  his maths which he hated come on in leaps & bounds

My lad comes with me some saturdays. His job is to squirt the fairy ontoteh brush when cleaning conny roofs or fascia/soffit. He is 9 and loves it.

My daughter has been working for us since she was 12, at 13 she went on "the books" as an employee.  Speak to your accountant, it's legal and above board providing you can quantify what they do.

My daughter is 13, she will have to come and work with me soon as she is now too big for her other job.
Only last week it took 6 firefighters all day to get her out of a chimney, I was gutted as she was meant to clean 4 more that day.  :(

I allow mine to help me when they reach the age of 14. Any younger I feel is too young in this game.

As I am trad they obviously only do the ground floor, using a 6 foot point ladder under very careful supervision.
