Title: Ionic poles - who supplies their hose fittings?
Post by: windows_chepstow on October 15, 2005, 08:34:02 pm
I've two Ionic poles; 18 ft and 4 ft.  At the end of the hose from the brush head is a male-brass fitting that fits a female hoselock (hozelock?) connector.

The good thing about them is that they connect a thin peice of hose to a garden-sized hose - via an easily available hoselock.

Does anyone know where I can buy these from?  I've googled; honest; but no luck.

ionic?

You're not being helpful!  I've googled.  Can't find any hose fittings to fit a hoselock.  Plenty of sites sell the poles; but it's the brass fitting that conects to a female hoselock conection I'm after.

Sorry,I was trying to be helpful, honest! ;) What i meant was why don't you just buy them from Ionic. The time and energy you'll waste trying to source them from elsewhere won't save much, you could be spending that time with Wor Lass!

I work with Wor Lass.  I don't want to spend anymore time round her than what's absolutely required.

I'm just after one or two of the brass conections, that connect a thin hose to a garden-sized hose; via hozelock.

Thanks, Roy.  I'll give 'em a bell on Monday.

I'll now bore you with detail.

What it is, I've got three poles.  A Peter Fogwill 30 foot pole, and two Ionics poles; 18 ft and 4 ft.  Both the Ionics poles fitted my pump system, but I had no conection for the Peter Fogwill pole and hose.

So I took the connection from the 4 ft pole and attached it to the Peter Fogwill 30 ft hose and pole so I could do that farm-house job.

But, I want the 4 ft pole for Wor Lass for when we do the Abbey Hotel next (lots of ground floor leaded windows I can just point her at); so I need another connection quick(ish).  I could just swap the bit back again; so there's no emergency.

Hi Tosh

I have done the Abey years and years ago with my Brother in law, we did it inside and out every 4wks.

I saw this company at the NEC they make the poles.

Hi Tosh

Is the pic below what you are looking for?

£3 + Vat and probably a couple of quid postage from Ionics, I usually have a couple spare, but I have had a look and I cannot locate them.

If you where to order Monday morning, you should have it by Tuesday.

I bet you groaned, the same as we do, as there's loads of leaded windows!

I'm looking forward to it with WFP now though (not the insides).

I was recently in B&Q. If you find the section where they sell rope and polypipe they also sell packets of various pipe connectors. Straight T joint Y joints. They come in mulipacks at about £3. They are also in various barb sizes 4,6,8 mm I think. I bought a couple of packs and I have switched them on Peter Fogwills brush head to replace the metal connectors
