whos with who for their business account? Whos the best to go with the cheapest etc?
-
Im with Lloyds myself amd happy with them.
Persnally I'd look at what banks are in your local town and see what they are offering.
-
Santander. Cumbersome paying in system through the ATM but I don't pay any charges for depositing cheques or cash or anything else and have been very pleased with them over the past 18 months.

Anyone with nat west? Are they any good?
-
Use to be with Barclay's but would not recommend them when they took 12k out of my account at an out of town branch and thats strike one and the second strike just before xmas when they took 15k for someone else's mortgage so I shopped around and went to Natwest and they treat you like royalty and have not had any problems with them at all and have been with them coming up to one year. :) :)

looks like i`ll be going with nat west. Thanks for the advice.

I walked into Natwest when i first wanted to open a business account. Here's how it went...
ME - Hi, i'd like to open a business account please
THEM - One moment (answers the phone) - strike 1
78 seconds later (i counted)
THEM - right, how can i help - strike 2
ME - i'd like to open a business account
THEM - (turns and says something not related to a woman) - strike 2 & 1/2
THEM - checks diary
THEM - ok, we will make an appointment for you, Jackie who usually opens business account is on maternity leave and Sarah has just gone on holiday for 2 weeks. I can pencil you in for two weeks tomorrow ?
ME - Need to open one today / tomorrow latest, dont worry i'll try else where
I walked out of there, into Lloyds, waited 10 mins and opened my account within 25 mins

Dont you lot all bank lots of cheques at 50p a pop? albeit in some banks after an introductory period? I average 90-100 cheques a week which would be £45 or £180-£200 a month just to deposit my cheques!!! :o :o i say NO THANKS to the high street jobbies and go for the free ones. CO op with FSB membership or Santander

I bank with nationwide and just have cheques made out to a seperate flex-account
Works really well, no charges and the bank don't do business accounts
If you're a sole trader, this is the best way to go imo.
