i dont get how you can charge more for 2 monthly, as if a wc said to me it i will do once a month for £10 but 1 every 2 months for £15, he is getting more money for a little bit more work, but i am paying more a clean, so would feel as if i was getting conned

A two monthly round takes twice as long to build as a monthly one, and the windows will be dirtier and take longer to clean, so only right to charge more.

Personally, i charge just a little more.
Eg- £10 monthly
£12 bi-monthly
This way the custy saves money and you get a better price, that doesnt take you any longer

I charge £2/£3 extra for two monthly.
it does take a little longer on some houses, but only a couple of mins I find. Well worth charging that little extra in my opinion.
I'd rather charge a little extra and have the custy 2 monthly than not at all ;)

Has it ever crossed your mind that you don't want people to go with two monthly cleans so you offer a discount on monthly cleans of 5 quid which makes it 10.00. Some people should just not be in business.

some houses are fine and dont take a second longer to clean but iv got 6 bi-monthly and 3 of them are really bad no so much the windows but cobwebs in the corners of windows stuck to glass, and sills need a good rub so wouldnt want clean the filth for same price

I don't want 2 monthly customers unless that's what they insist on; I'd love allour customers to have their windows cleaned daily; what ever it takes to secure a good wage. All this eight week cleans, switching from four to six weeks, bloody mental in my opinion. :-\

Just under 50% of my customers take up that offer at a 50% premium from me so there are plenty out there (though mine are six-weekly versus twelve-weekly). For a 3-bed semi, my customers are having their windows sparkling for half the year, good for the other half and paying £6 a month, so they are happy. I earn almost 50% more per cleaning hour, so I'm happy.
If you don't ask, you don't get.

You are missing the point of running a profitable business ! If somone is buying in bulk ie wanting a more frequent interval you can give them a lower price because overall throughout the year you are receiving more income.
Same principal of shopping when you buy in bulk you get a better deal per unit than if you were to only buy one item.

Why would you want to work your nuts off and increase the frequency for less money per clean.
Let them go longer at a premium rate and get more customers.
Some people just shouldn't be in business ::)

Nice touch of sarcasm there to try to make the whole idea look foolish. Try thinking it through instead.
The limit on how much you can earn, if you're not employing, is the number of cleans you can do in a day. Let's say it's 20 for my six-weeklies. Would you rather spend the day doing 18 cleans at £15 each (£270) or 20 cleans at £10 each (£200)? For me the answer's obvious and I love days full of 12-weekly cleans. Now there is a cost - it takes longer to build a round, but I'm in this for the long term, so I live with that.

i can understand why you want 12 weeklys, but i cant understand why a custy would only want there windows done every 3 months and want to pay more the privilage of having dirty windows,

You need to see it from their perspective.
They aren't paying more overall. If my cleans were £10 and £15, then if they had six-weekly they get 8 cleans a year, so £80. I f they have four they spend £60. With a twelve weekly clean their windows will be perfect for half the year (i.e. within six weeks of a clean) and pretty good all year round - I do ours every twelve weeks and the only thing that really shows it is the sills.
Whatever the reason, the fact is that just under 50% of my customers choose 12-weekly. So, whatever the reaon might be why people choose it, it appears to make both them and me happy.

Go to see new customer, have a look at windows, admire garden, pat dog, smile at kids. Then ask how often she would like to have then done. DO NOT mention money.
Explain that its entirely up to her, you set her up on the computer and whatever she says thats how often her name pops up. But try to make her feel that its her decision. Thats important
By the time thats done she has already more or less committed so then you say it will be £15, thats our standard charge, like you have assumed its a done deal. Then go straight into I can fit you in tomorrow, would the morning be OK? And make sure you clean them as soon as poss after you have been to quote.
Don't say I'm going to charge you extra (FFS!)
Then after you have gone she thinks. £15 seems a bit steep but it is only ever 8 weeks I suppose.

surely you are on a windup here right. Most of my customers are monthly and i do charge top good money for them and the reason they pay top money and dont drop me is because im frequent and there windows are always gleeming..if i had a full round of 6 and 12 weekly due to me wanting it that way id be an idiot asking for trouble..mate they will be filthy after 12 weeks..the funnt thing is you are actualy on here making out its a good business move which it clearly isnt because if after say 10 weeks have gone by and a canvasser spots how dirty they are and knocks saying they come every month withought fail to clean there windows and frames how most window cleaners work im sure they will drop you as will be having a better job done at a much better frequency, tbe way you do it there windows must be more dirty than clean throughout the year. all my customes are happy i turn up every 28 days on time and even on that frequency you always end up.with at least 1 load of bird poo or a bird flown into the window grease mark or dust etc etc.

Those that know me on here will know I am not on a wind up. Customers don't worry about their windows getting dirty as long as they know you are coming regularly. I could say why should they pay you if they are still clean
I am in business to make money, nothing else. I've been at this game off and on for thirty five years, my house is paid for, my wife took delivery of a brand new car last week and we are off to New York on holiday in a few weeks. I am turning work away. I am reasonably confident I am able to offer good advice.

My near-50% aren't on 12-weekly because I want it that way. They are given the prices and given the choice. They choose 12-weekly. They all know they can swap to 6-weekly but again, choose not to. Given they have made that choice, why would they listen to this mythical canvasser?
When I chose a 50% premium, I expected very few people to take it up, by the way. I thought it might be the icing on the cake. It's rapidly turning into the cake, much to my surprise.

There's nothing to get because there isn't any rules
thats why you get people on forums saying you can't do that
they have set their own rules and think they apply to you as well
you don't need to get or understand other peoples business
just make sure you get your own business
