Title: Tank & frame - what's it worth ?
Post by: Blue Frog Systems on July 01, 2011, 09:41:59 pm
Ok I'm going to be putting up for sale my 400L upright tank and frame for sale and was wondering what its worth ?

Is 18months old and been in 1 vehicle from new. The frame is a really solid one that goes over and all the way around the tank and cost me £250 to get made up.

Tank has an immersion heater fitted in the side.

What do you reckon its worth ?

Not sure really what i want yet, thats why im asking

New (and i know its not new) it would be £434 for the both of them.

I'll get a picture up tomorrow to show how good the frame really is.

Ok, £250.

Immersion heater doesnt have a guarantee. Only bought it in Jan and never thought about keeping the docs / paperwork for it as i didnt think i'd be selling the tank (how things change eh)

It's worth whatever someone will pay.  Sorry to be glib, but it's true.

Your best bet is to bung it on Ebay and publicise the fact on all the forums.  That'll get you the top price the market will bear.

No Mark, different van ... the red expert has had it and am going to be renting a Pegeout Boxer off my bro in law that he doesnt really use till i can get  a van of my own.

Dont want to be drilling holes in his van, so plan is to get a flat tank and ratchet it in the back.

Vin... yes mate your right about what willing. Am advertising it on forums now and will stick on ebay later on today

JP, just seen the pic is the forsale section, how well does the heater work in the  lid? is it fully immersed in water when the tank is full?

Lee, heater is in the side (opposite to the one in the picture)

I was running my pump slow overnight from a car battery to keep the water moving, through the hole where the microfibre cloth is you can see. Worked well that way i must say

The metal part you see in the lid is the connector for the 1" 1/4 hose. You just unscrew the metal cap you see in the pic and screw the connector from the hose to the tank lid

No, reason for not putting it in the lid was that i dont fill the tank to the brim each day. I only take what i need plus a bit more.

Also heat rises, so it wouldnt heat the water at the bottom
