Title: Wrong fuel in van.
Post by: focuscoleraine on July 01, 2011, 04:31:56 pm: Put 20 pounds of petrol in my diesel van today and lost most todays work waiting on getting van back. My mobile rang as i was about to fill up and i lifted the wrong nozzel and carried on talking and filling. What a plonker.

Well I've done it loads of times any never been blown up once. ;D

It has happened, at least one case in the US. Unlikely, as proved by Brainiacs, but does happen.
Not just phones but all transmitting equipment.
What sort of van was it?

Depends what he's driving. Old truck like mine, no problem I'd do just that. New van or truck with common-rail diesel, think damaged oxidation cat, sensors, possibly injectors, reprogramming, £££ etc.

When i went in to pay the guy was creasing himself laughing. Says he's going to see what the video is like from security cameras as my face was a picture trying to figure out the problem.

Never told the wife ;)
