popped down to the local shops today as i got a day off with kids due to the strike, anyway i saw a leaflet that advertised a window cleaning service trad or wfp for a flat rate of 5pounds for any house!!! the killer for me was that it states that connys are included in the price!!!! where do they come from?

I guess he thinks it sounds like a good idea and will have loads of households clammering for his services.

However, when he spends all day cleaning five massive houses and takes home £25 for his trouble he'll have second thoughts ::)

It could be a good ploy because he hasn't promised to supply an ongoing service for a fiver.  So get customers on board for their £5 cleans and after the first clean, supply the proper quotation.  It's possible that enough would stick around to make it worthwhile.

You need not to worry. They are probably dole merchants - looking for a top-up and they cannot be trusted by charging money as little as that.

On the other hand, you could just end up cleaning mansions at a fiver a time for a one off clean.  :(

We had a guy do the same last year started out at £4 for any house. He walks his round with a ladder and bucket.

6 months after taking loads of work of all the local window cleaners he put all his prices up.

What's he charge now, £4.50?  ;D
