I had a Pro 5 Thermopure for 4-5 years, never had a problem with anything up until a month that i sold it, the float switch packed up, but only cost £40 odd quid from Ionics.

it is not a thermopure but it is about 5 years old just wondering what other cost i might get shortly
-
I have one and they are excellent. The only possible costs will be replacement filters. A full new set is over £1k. I renewed all mine when I bought the system and it should be good for another four years or so.

Same set up, but mine had a webasto on it to produce hot water. The only thing you will have to replace is the filters ect. The last 3 years that i had it, i filled from a static. When i sold it, i flushed the filters through and i checked the water quality. Reading was about 8ppm, so i just changed the resin filter for the new owner, that cost £75 quid from Ionics.

How much is the guy selling it for?

i have a pro 5 and they are the best system that Ionics do.

I would like to buy it just worried it will cost a lot of money if membrains etc are gone

it looks like the 1st pro 5 series and still a bargain at that price.
if it was me I would buy a new RO membrane, carbon filter, water softner and resin cartridge and it should work like new.
