Title: A legitimate business?

I've never run my own business before. What would I need to do in order to become a legitimate operation. By that I mean... do I have to 'register' with an association or governing body? Do I need some kind of council license?
I know I need liability insurance is there anything else I need to consider?

  Hello Mate

   Get yourself off up to the tax affice and have a talk with them, they will also point you in the right direction for the benifits you may be able to claim while you get up and running.
