im well behind due to the weather and im going away for almost 2 weeks on monday typicle they give a heat wave now the question is should i send everyone a letter saying sorry but im going to be well over due due to weather and holiday or leave them guessing ??? ???
-
personally id send a letter or text 2 each customer.Theres a lot of competition in my area at the moment.better safe than sorry.
-
boldy you should work in the rain mate.all but the heaviest of rain.surely its not been bouncing down ALL day every day over the last few weeks?i find that now im wfp its easier to just crack on and get the work done.im speeding through my round with my van mount now.its easier to catch up when i have a few days off as well.i have over 340 customers(sole trader).
-
just go on hols and forget all about until you get back.nothing you do now is going to make you catch up.
should have thought about it over a month ago. :o

It is probably not a good idea to announce on here you are going away, as this is a public forum and you do not know who might be taking note!

Cancel your holiday ;D

Behind because of the weather? If your customers are in the UK like you then they'll know you're spoofing if you let them know. As it is you've just posted here. What weather event caused you to be behind?

it tends to rain all morning then brighten up in the afternoon and sorry but i aint driving all the way out to a round knowing i wouldnt finish it and have to go back the next day ive caught up on my gutter cleans though i had stored. unfortunatly most my custys wouldnt like them done in the rain and have told me this i do clean local ones that i know would be out at work in the rain ive tried to explane that you can do them in the rain wfp and about my satisfaction garantee but they the older gen and just dont agree and to be honest i dont like doing windows in the rain either each to there own i suppose they will all understand i worked through the showers yesterday got moaned at for starting at 8.35am and had 3 comments about it being a rain ridden day and several say didnt expect you the way the weathers been thanks guys

honestly boldy your just making excuses!!even if its bouncing down at 8am or whatever time you leave for work.go out anyway.a lot of the time you ll find its stopped by the time you start your first job of the day.
i would say over the last 3 weeks there as been around 4-5 days where its rained hard at times but a quick brew in the van or just cracking on with it has no affect on my work.my customers know i run a business.choose the ones thatll be out or your cheaper run of the mill work if its too bad.what you gonna do if its raining when you come back off holiday?have another few days off?
youll find your business going down the toilet if you dont change your attitude IMO.I Have NEVER had any customer moan about starting early!if they did i would just humour them and carry on or not start that particular house at that time of day again.
enjoy your holiday but when you come back dont make any more excuses!! ;) ;D ;D ;D
best wishes

most windys custys would like you only turn up when the sun is out but it aint being realistic, its rained most days in the past month round my way and for most parts of the country, but its tough i dont clean windows in the rain either (im trad),but its mainly showers so sit in the van and get out when its stops if you only do half a day but you have been out for 8 hours at least you earned some money, custys have said to me before its pointless when the weathers bad but i still turn up and they dont say owt,you need be out in all weathers to make a living
