This leaflet came through my door today. Washington isn't on my doorstep either!
-
so why not book them to do all your work, collect the money off your punters, and pay these guys £30 a time, they get the work so they are happy, punters get carpets clean ish so they happy ish.....
You get loads of money for getting them both together.......
every one's a winner....... ;D
-
Desperate times and all that..... Est 1983 and charging 1983 prices by the look of it, free "Spangels" and "Rubix Cube" with every clean ;D
-
I like spangles ;D
-
Tempted to call and ask what they would ask for a clean & protect with Scothguard.
My accent would be a give away straight off though.
-
Ive already rung. Says he uses an Extracta BX. Now after 27 years in the trade you'd have thought he'd have at least an Excel!
-
They can't even spell Suite !.
-
27 years my a**e!

You don't know that James........
He may do a very good job.....
-
low price does not always mean bad work...,.,

Sory Derek.... I cuddent resist..... ;D ;D ;D
-
just as high price does not always mean good work.....
-
No from and to dates for special offer, so that is the bait to get people to call. Very easy to then say "oh that special offer has ended now or we are fully scheduled on that offer, but we do have another that may suit you"......" when can we come and give you a quote? :)
-
Well from the way he answered the phone when I called "ALLAW" I bet his professional telephone manner carries over to his work!!
-
low price does not always mean bad work...,.,
I think we have to accept that some people can and will work for these prices, if all they need is enough money to put food on the table and pay a few bills.... Even with a BX they, could still leave a happy and satisfied customer, just as much as the next C/C with his shiny TM charging 4 times as much.
Ask yourself, how low would you really go if it meant not letting your kids or yourself go hungry?
It will get worse before it gets better....
-
got your work cut out on here with me col, if your gonna correct my grammer. i'm a lazy typer unless its for my custies.

I know we all make spelling mistakes and all that, and I am no "Grammar Police Man" whatsoever. But as we were talking about spelling, I just had to... Sorry pal ;D
-
come on col, we were talking about spelling on adverts that the customer can see and judge you by. massive difference. and i'll always lazy type on ciu. unless you want to book me in for a clean, then i'll spell a bit betta. ;D
-
What can I say Derek..? I'm an opportunist.... ;D
-
Hi guys
Licensed 3M etc suggests they have been around for years.
It must be an upsell at those prices as with fuel/chemical cost , insurance etc you could'nt make a living.
Cheers
Doug
-
A local guy who used to be a distributor for chemspec used to charge top end prices saw his van today 3 bedroom house from £75 or 2 bedroom house from £65
-
The grammar itself isn't the best, probably
the same with their cleaning.
John

John i had the same leaflet about 2 months ago and i live at seaham.
I travelled from mine to your neck of the woods this morning for restormates training course, took me an hour, so from washington would have took about 50 mins, and he would have £1.20 each way to pay at the tunnel (at his prices its a canny dint)
Steve, i was up against a local truckmount fella the other day you probably know who,he quoted £80 for a four bedroom house :o, :o
-
Every one needs to work but those prices are stupid, he has got to be up selling. Is that neck of the woods really so poor?
-
There's someone down here that "says" they are a TM'er, and it's cheaper cos they are quicker ??? In their words.... :o
-
Who is that Colin
-
Any 3 carpets for £38 t/m glasgow
-
Who is that Colin
I really don't know and I suspect that although they know what a TM is, they don't actually use one... If you get my drift....?

Derek
There's a VERY WEALTHY gent in the US whose work has been used to good effect over here in marketing carpet cleaning services who advocated misspelling and poor typing.
Many have adopted his advice and prospered.
His name is Joe Polish.
-
i just love these cheap guys, every time they leaflet my area i get phone calls. they put the idea into
peoples minds, then the people phone us because they want someone they can trust.
bring it on
Dave. ;D ;D ;D

Well unless he's a registered charity i dont see how he could make a living what with insurance vehicle and liabilty, running cost for equipment chemicals, marketing, petrol, etc etc, those sort of prices prices mean either upselling or hes turning over ten jobs a day in which case it has to be shoddy work cutting a lot of corners.
-
This guys been around a while. He used to have a website with a picture of a van with truckmount and him standing beside it. It also mentioned he had a car business somewhere in Merseyside or Cheshire way.
3m take great exception to anyone using that name. The original Scotchcare services guys can still use it even though the network now doesn't exist. I was at lunch with 2 prominant Scotchcare guys tonight and they don't know who he is. Certainly wasn't a licensed applicator up here because that was Re-vita.
