Post by: GB Window Cleaning on June 18, 2011, 09:34:24 am
so how do you do it then?

when i get my van mount with say a 600gpd ro + di, do i have to start purifying water as soon as i get home and then turn the tap off when its bed time?

not sure how im gonna work it! dont think im gonna be able to use my dads garage for a static after all, cant be doing with the hasle of dealing with my dad and taking up his space if you know what i mean!

so i just cant get my head round it properly  ???

You don't need to turn taps off, and my advice is to get a HF5 4040 RO unit (about £300) not a 600 god thing.

You park your van, connect it to the water supply and it fills up. Van systems have a float switch that turns the water off when its full. So you can go to bed and not worry about it.

A 4040 RO unit will fill a 600 litre tank in about 2 or 3 hours.

oh right i see, i just thought pressure would build up when the float switch kicks in.

If u can get the garage space then i would go that way, u can get different size tanks to save space in there, but i think your dad might want 2 be more concerned about  the water use (if your on a meter) - If u go the van way, it will take up more room in there and in the winter u will need some sort of heater to keep the membrane above 1c. As nick said above 4040 is the best way, as this will make water quicker without a reel need 4 a booster pump

I reckon it would mate over the year, but u will be making the money to easy cover it - i think u can also run your waste through another RO to save on water - im not completly sure on this but i think if u made 500l the waste would be the simlair, plus if u have a stop cock fitted inside your tank, even though it stops the pure water when it reaches the req level it will still be flushing water out of the waste end - i only found this out myself a month ago so ive ordered a water timer
